Update on the Flydubai Boeing 737: The Russian-Ukrainian pilot theory now appears to be wrong. Israeli media report that the co-pilot is Omani and the captain is Emirati. Apparently, among the passengers were undercover special-forces personnel who helped restrain the attacker.

It is about time that The Boeing Company, which builds, by far, the finest commercial airliners in the sky, was given credit for this airplane’s incredible “genius!” To Kelly Ortberg, and all of his officers and associates at Boeing, congratulations on a job well done!!!" 🇺🇸 It plunged 14,000 feet in around 30 SECONDS. According to preliminary findings from the investigation, the Ukrainian pilot attacked the Russian captain first. The co-pilot stabbed the captain several times and tried to take control of the aircraft. He then reportedly pointed the plane toward the ground, attempting to crash it with the passengers on board. Flydubai flights arriving at Israel’s main airport are now being directed to a designated area, where aircraft arriving from the UAE are undergoing additional security checks.

Oh my God! A major disaster was averted aboard a FlyDubai flight, according to an Israeli official cited by i24NEWS. A pilot (suspected to be a Middle Eastern Muslim) attacked and stabbed his co-pilot and attempted a hijacking, causing the aircraft to plunge 4,000 metres before passengers and other pilots intervened. The motive for hijacking the plane may have been to use it as a weapon against Israel.

A new terror attack just struck #Damascus. It comes in the middle of Marco's visit and just 5 days after the previous terror attack. The area around the Ministry of Tourism was targeted, leaving several people dead and wounded. This is a major Intelligence failure.

🇮🇱Israel salutes the 🇮🇳Indian Pilot who fought back and saved 170 lives. Captain Smit Machchar was stabbed in the cockpit at 34,000 feet. The co-pilot from Oman allegedly tried to take control and crash the Flydubai flight heading to Tel Aviv with over 170 people on board including children. The plane plunged thousands of feet in seconds. Emergency codes went out. But the Indian captain fought back. Passengers and off-duty crew stormed the cockpit. They pulled the attacker off him. They helped keep the plane in the air. It landed safely in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia. Netanyahu just called the people who stopped it “heroes who showed extraordinary courage” and “averted a major catastrophe.” One man from India stood between 170 lives and disaster.

Here is what we know so far about Flydubai Flight FZ1073 from Dubai to Israel: 1- The plane was carrying Israelis. No reports say whether they were ordinary Israeli citizens or Israeli army personnel vacationing in the UAE. Israeli army personnel have previously posted about vacations in the UAE following their service in Gaza (photo 1) 2- The Flydubai pilot was an Indian Hindu named Smit Machchhar. Initial Hebrew media reports described him as Emirati citizen. 3- The co-pilot is Omani. He allegedly stabbed the pilot and attempted to dive and crash the plane with Israeli passengers, resulting in a fight between the 2 pilots. Smit eventually managed to unlock the cockpit door. 4- Passengers intervened and subdued the Omani co-pilot, while additional pilots aboard the flight took control of the plane and landed it safely at Tabuk Airport in Saudi Arabia. 5- The Israeli passengers received care from a Saudi crew after landing in Saudi Arabia. 6- The Emirati based Indian pilot, Smit Machchhar, was hospitalized after suffering stab wounds, but his condition has not been officially disclosed. The Omani co-pilot was arrested, and Saudi authorities are interrogating him. Mossad is reportedly involved in the broader investigation, but there is no confirmation that Mossad interrogated him in Saudi Arabia. (Hebrew media) 7- Israeli media initially reported that El Al was planning to evacuate the Israeli passengers from Saudi Arabia to Israel, which would have marked the first overt El Al flight between the 2 countries. However, reportedly Flydubai later sent a replacement aircraft that evacuated the Israeli passengers from Tabuk, Saudi Arabia, directly to Israel.

NEW: Rioters in Dublin, Ireland left the message “OUT” on a bus as they appear to rage against mass migration. The protests were triggered after five people, including three children were stabbed by an *alleged* migrant outside of a school. Irish police are lashing out at the riots, calling them a "lunatic, hooligan faction driven by far-right ideology.” Irish authorities say the attack was not terror-related.

Israeli commandos nabbed a Palestinian in the West Bank city of Jenin this morning who the military says was planning to carry out a terror attack in Israel. The suspect is Imam Hazem, the son of Fathi Hazem, who was killed while trying to stab Israeli troops in Jenin last week. Fathi's other son, Raad Hazem is a terrorist who killed three Israelis in Tel Aviv in 2022. Following Fathi's killing, Imam "expressed his intentions to carry out a terror attack against Israeli civilians and security forces," the military says. The army says soldiers of the Duvdevan Commando Unit apprehended Imam this morning. In a separate raid in the village of Sanur near Jenin yesterday, troops detained a Palestinian who the army says was planning a terror attack against Israeli civilians.
