Flygon and Garchomp can swim??

The day Pokémon fans collectively realise that a Pokémon having a type that's weak to water type attacks doesn't disqualify them from interacting with water as a whole is the day we all get flying cars and solve world hunger

I mean, Garchomp is basically an oversized Sharpedo.

Garchomp can canonically learn surf in the games

I mean, Garchomp is a shark.

I mean Rhydon can learn surf

Neither are weak to water because of the Dragon type, and even if they were that doesn't mean they couldn't touch water ever. Type weaknesses only apply to attacks, not to living a daily life. It doesn't rain on the mountain and then you see a million dead Geodudes.

Garchomp is based off of a “Land Shark.” Emphasis on “Shark.”

So explain to me how flygon got like a 3sec headstart and garchom instantly caught up but then it stays neck and neck for the rest of the race

Garchomp is LITERALLY A SHARK. Also because Dragon resists water, Neither of them are weak to it. It IS neat to see Flygon swim though

Okay. But why can garchomp learn surf in the games but not flygon

Since Flygon ain’t a feathered dragon is not a surprise seeing them swimming

I know it's kind of a sin to pick on him, but man, Alolan Ash really does have the worse and derpiest design. XD

He can learn Surf

Why flygon swimming like that when they already have a tail like a dolphin and their body is quite hydrodynamic. It should at least be as fast as garchomp if not faster

They are neutral to water, you know?

Turns out being part Dragon makes water not so scary for their other type weakness. :P

I mean, they have the physical design to do it.

They both are ground types which is weak against water, but with them both also being dragon types, they resist water, so it really cancels out.
