why is no one mentioning how the song sounds nothing like cycles it gets rid of everything I like about the original song

I think a big portion of that is the context. This Mix of the song was intentionally made for fun without having a mod tie-in, and given the vibe of the song, it's clear that it didn't use its involvement from the original Sonic.EXE mod as a reference, only using a few familiar song beats and adding some new variety to sound more upbeat. To be fair, if we took this song and placed it on top of the art/settings from OG Cycles, it probably wouldn't fit as well as the OG song did. But this new mod presented the song so that it fits in a way that feels right. And I think with this new context, it works as its own singular thing. OG Cycles aimed to be like a slow, creepy rap song, which works for that mod. With this mod being called "Welcome Back" and how it showcases the mix, I now interpret the song like an exciting return of Lord X, especially for people who enjoy the character. Honestly tho, I think it is cool that Lord X is being respected like this. Yeah, it is different from the OG, but the love for the character is still very present 😇👍
