DANCING IN THE STREET UPGRADED 4K VIDEO WITH PREVIOUSLY UNSEEN FOOTAGE “Just as long as you are there...” The headline says it all, keep reading for the full press release and links. #BowieJaggerDITS DAVID BOWIE & MICK JAGGER - DANCING IN THE STREET WATCH THE 12” REMIX UPGRADED 4K VIDEO FEATURING UNSEEN FOOTAGE HERE NOW 40th ANNIVERSARY - LIMITED EDITION REMASTERED WHITE VINYL 12” OUT NOW ON PARLOPHONE RECORDS 40 years ago this week, the David Bowie and Mick Jagger duet of the Motown classic, “Dancing In The Street” was released with all the proceeds benefiting famine relief. The track and video had been debuted six weeks earlier during Live Aid, the benefit concert organised by Bob Geldof and Midge Ure to raise further funds for the relief of the famine in Ethiopia. The video, which, like the song, had been recorded and filmed in thirteen hours, only fourteen days earlier, was shown just before Bowie took to the stage at Wembley Stadium. The making of the video was documented at the time, but that footage has mainly remained unseen until today. The new 4K video for the Steve Thompson Mix remix of the track features behind-the-scenes footage from the late-night shoot at Spillers Millennium Mills in the East End of London. The single version of the song was released on 27th August, with all the proceeds benefiting famine relief. It topped the UK Singles Chart for four weeks and reached No. 7 in the United States on the Billboard Hot 100. To celebrate the 40th anniversary of ”Dancing In The Street,” a limited edition white vinyl 12" is available now, bringing together every one of the song's mixes for the first time. As with the original, 30% of the retail price from the sale of this single, representing royalties and proceeds, will be donated to the Band Aid Charitable Trust by David Bowie, Mick Jagger and Parlophone Records. Talking about the collaboration today, Mick Jagger comments ‘’We had such a laugh doing ‘Dancing in the Street’ with both the song recorded in the studio and the video done in one day. Remarkable how we pulled it off really. The video is hilarious to watch now. We enjoyed camping it up and trying to impersonate each other’s moves, making it up as we went along. It was the only time David and myself collaborated on anything, which is a real shame.” Speaking about the song and video at the time, Bowie said “We thought about it on a Thursday night and we just went through a bunch of old songs and thought that ‘Dancing’ was one we both knew very well and then we went into the studio between 7 and 11 on Saturday night and then we went over to the Docklands and shot the video for the rest of the night so we did the whole thing in ten hours, it was great.” He also talked about the spirit of Live Aid, saying “Everybody out there who sent money in, you’re the real heroes because it’s easy for me to go up there and sing some songs, but it’s much harder for you to give money and not be recognised. Good on ya!” DAVID BOWIE & MICK JAGGER DANCING IN THE STREET 40th ANNIVERSARY WHITE VINYL TRACKLISTING SIDE ONE Dancing In The Street (Clearmountain Mix) (3.11) Dancing In The Street (Instrumental) (3.17) Dancing In The Street (Steve Thompson Mix) (4.42) SIDE TWO Dancing In The Street (Edit) (3.24) Dancing In The Street (Dub) (4.43) DAVID BOWIE & MICK JAGGER - DANCING IN THE STREET - 40th ANNIVERSARY LIMITED EDITION REMASTERED WHITE VINYL 12” - OUT NOW ON PARLOPHONE

"If you read history...general basic history".... Whitewashing Muslim immigrant lectures Irish people incorrectly on the "Irish fammine" suggesting that the statue in Drogheda, Co. Louth is meant to honour an Islamic empire that assisted starving Irish people, an empire that actually only ever truly sought to invade Europe and other regions. A series of military conflicts between the Ottoman Empire and various European states took place from the Late Middle Ages up through the early 20th century. I feel like the tone of this man's argument is Irish people have a lot to be grateful to an Islamic Empire for (and therefore we should stop moaning about excessive immigration perhaps??) Here are some corrections I would like to offer: 1. The "fammine" [famine] was not in the 1940's. It was 1845 to 1852. 2. It was a genocide. Yes, there was a potato blight, but there was plenty of other food available that was shipped out of the country. This equates to starving people. 3. Many say it was not a genocide, but Charles Trevelyan, Assistant Secretary to Her Majesty’s Treasury, 1847 (Knighted, 1848, for his "famine relief" role wasn't very good at his relief job and said the Irish were savages. He wrote "[The Famine] is a punishment from God for an idle, ungrateful, and rebellious country; an indolent and un-self-reliant people. The Irish are suffering from an affliction of God’s providence." 4. The Turkish Ottoman Empire did send around 1,000 pounds of financial aid to Ireland (equivalent to 200,000 euro today) but there is little to no evidence to support the claim that between three and five ships full of food were also sent. There's also no concrete evidence to suggest the Sultan was going to send 10,000 pounds (I am open to corection). 5. This financial aid was actually a relatively small donation compared to contributions given by Irish diaspora, British Protestants, and the Catholic church. 6. There is an attempt in certain quarters (in Ireland and in the Arab world) to overplay the Islamic assistance offered to Irish natives during the famine. If the Ottoman Empire had the chance, it would have taken over every European country and enforced Islam on the people. 7. The sack of Baltimore took place on 20 June 1631, when the village of Baltimore in West Cork, Ireland, was attacked by pirates from the Barbary Coast of North Africa – the raiders included Dutchmen, Algerians, and Ottoman Turks. The attack was the largest by Barbary slave traders on Ireland.

This is where a lot of tech professionals landing 6-figure roles actually get hired from. Not random job boards. Not even the usual “Easy Apply.” Here are 8 platforms that are genuinely high-signal for UX designers and tech professionals looking for fully remote roles. I also broke down what makes each one stand out, and how you should use them properly. 1. Wellfound (AngelList) URL: How to win here: Build a profile like a landing page (2 to 3 outcomes + 1 niche). Filter by salary range + stage. Apply to roles where your portfolio matches the product type. Message founder/recruiter with 2 lines: relevant proof + quick question. You will also need a USD account to receive salary, go to Cleva (YC W24) and open one. Best level: mid to senior (junior can still get something here with strong case studies). 2. Otta URL: How to win here: Set preferences tightly (role, level, industry, remote rules). Treat it like “high quality, low volume”: 3–5 strong apps/week. Tailor your first line of CV to match the job’s problem space. Best level: junior-mid to senior (works for all, but best when your profile is clear). 3. Y Combinator Jobs (Work at a Startup) URL: How to win here: Apply to roles where you can show 0→1 or growth-stage wins. Add a short “Operating style” section in your profile (collaboration, scope). Follow up off-platform (LinkedIn/email) with a 3-sentence note. You may also need a USD account to receive salary, go to Cleva (YC W24) and open one. Best level: mid to senior (but juniors can land roles in smaller teams with strong proof). 4. Himalayas URL: How to win here: Set location/timezone filters correctly. Save searches + alerts for your niche (e.g., B2B SaaS, fintech). Apply within 24 - 48 hours of posting when possible. Best level: all levels. 5. Remotive URL: How to win here: Filter to “worldwide” only if you truly can work globally. Don’t apply without rewriting your top 3 bullets to match role keywords. Pair every application with a short “proof note” (1 case study link + why). Best level: mid-level + seniors, but juniors can win with tailored apps. 6. We Work Remotely URL: How to win here: Apply fast (same day if possible). Use a “1-minute cover letter”: 3 bullets (domain match, proof, link). Only apply when you match 70%+ of requirements. Best level: mid to senior. 7. Remote OK URL: How to win here: Use strict filters (role + seniority + benefits). Ignore anything vague (“rockstar”, no salary, unclear company). Treat it like lead gen: apply + then research and follow up elsewhere. Best level: mid to senior. 8. FlexJobs (paid, but filtered) URL: How to win here: Only pay if you’ll apply consistently for 30 days. Use advanced filters and avoid anything without clear employer info. Cross-check listings on the company’s careers page. Best level: junior to mid (also useful for career switchers). You will need a USD account to receive salary, go to Cleva (YC W24) and open one. If you find breakdowns like this useful, Follow for more, I share more of them here. Don't mention.

the future is not the app store a 6 minute rant vibe coding tools have one problem no one's talking about anyone can make an app but no one can release an app posting on tiktok is instant, posting on youtube is instant what if posting a video on tiktok took 2-7 days and a panel of individuals who have NEVER posted a tiktok on their own, determined if your video was "tiktok-like" welcome to the 2025 app store, where this is the case let me explain a long time ago, when the first few iphones were released, apple had a tough battle motorola and blackberry were great competitors with phones people loved apple decided to open up the app store, and invite devs to come create whatever they wanted the app store was created by people like me, iBeer, Paper toss, Bump. these are my founding fathers. people who treated engineering as art. they didn't care about being cool they cared about making their friends look cool and using iBeer made you look cool the catch was -> iBeer was only available on the iPhone as hundreds of these iPhone exclusive apps were released thousands, hundreds of thousands, and millions flocked to use an iPhone small, focused, creative apps made the iPhone what it was but as soon as the iPhone became incumbent, the doors shut. tight. new rules. new regulations. new taxes. i spent the last 6 days working on an app we release an app a week at Danger Testing, bringing back that old energy. making the internet fun again i didnt sleep much, and even with the trauma the app store has put me in before ~ i had faith. that they would do right by this work I put in I was wrong They haggled with me for a few days on the type of data I was storing, which was none ~ (they would know that if they were engineers) Then at the last minute mailed it in with a rejection, with the words "this app is not app like" a sentence that means nothing Guideline 4.2 - Design - Minimum Functionality this is a guideline they hide behind anytime they have decided internally they don't feel an app should be released, but don't want to tell you why you leave me stranded. no where to go, no improvements to make, just go away there's a huge opportunity waiting to happen in apps right now for the first time apps can be cultural commentary, apps can be viral and ephemeral APPS CAN BE EVERYTHING YOUTUBE VIDEOS CAN BE software is fast, software costs nothing everything is lined up except the app store as it stands isn't a platform, it's a government and your average vibe coder is not going to push through a rejection, let alone 20+ rejections -> which i received on my first app of the year millions of apps will be made the success of these apps should be dependent on distribution, not on if some dude thinks its legit This revolution will NOT happen if the doors we have to go through are owned by the app store We need something new, something true and beautiful and welcoming Danger Testing wants everyone to be an appstar This tweet is not on the heels of a single rejection It's on the heels of hundreds of app store rejections in a lifetime A battle to provide the world with what I know it will love But a battle filled with friction at every turn due to the suits I remember being at a hackathon and making this app with andrea The judges ranked us last place, said the app was too goofy Today the last iteration of that app got 25+ million views across the internet This is the new world A group of dudes sitting behind a table don't get to decide our reality, we get to create it Fight back Don't ever allow yourself to be subjected by non shipper losers with no courage The cavalry isn't coming We are the cavalry Let's fight

Most of you guys don't know that I grew up as a Christian missionary kid, with both of my parents in full-time ministry. What this meant is that I grew up seeing my parents imperfectly strive to be the hands and feet of Jesus. There were times when a homeless lady slept on our couch downstairs and a homeless man in a tent in our backyard. Other times when our side street was full of tables and people from the neighborhood as we fed the hungry. Constantly because I was homeschooled, school would be interrupted to help someone move something or donate stuff to the ministry thrift store. As a kid I often thought about how much more my parents could do if they had more money. That's where my desire to learn how to make money started because I wanted to be able to help their ministry. Somewhere along this journey I started to lose the plot and started to care more about money than God, which is a horrible place to get to. This morning while I was praying and thanking God for afflicting me, because truly before I was afflicted I went astray but now I love His law. A song that I wrote, I believe when I was around nine or ten years old, came back to my mind and truly it blows me away that my nine-year-old self had more wisdom at times than my late twenties self and my thirty-one-year-old self. And the reason for that is simple. All wisdom comes from God and man's wisdom is nothing compared to his, which means that if God wants to give a nine-year-old some wisdom, it can be greater than that of a PhD professor whose wisdom comes only from man. This is the song I wrote as a little boy. Verse 1: How crazy are everyday worries! How crazy the things that we dread! Oh how pointless the things that we long for! Oh how pointless the lives that we live! Chorus: How crazy, how crazy How pointless, how pointless can we live? Verse 2: We know who we should long for. We know who we should praise. We know who we should obey. But it's easier said than done. I remember my parents telling me that it was pretty good but no one would want to sing it because the chorus was too depressing and people want to be uplifted. So from then on I would just sing it to myself because I didn't think it was depressing because it reminded me about what mattered. It reminded me that everything the world told me mattered didn't. Sometimes I would use the song to pray, too, before I went to bed or after I woke up. Jesus Christ is the one that we should long for. He's the one that we should praise, and he is the one that we must obey. For Jesus says, "If you love me you will do what I command." Maybe you're reading this, extremely skeptical of God or any religion. I just would ask you: what's going to be the end of everything you're pursuing now? Is your life not like a breath, here today and gone tomorrow? Is all of the money that you're gathering not simply going to be left to someone else for you're not going to be able to take any of it with you? Will not all of your memories that you cherish so dearly be lost with you when you die? Is not the fruit of all that you're pursuing meaningless if there is no God for the end of the universe is cold, dark, and lifeless and not even the generations between now and lifelessness will remember you? If there was no God there would be nothing. Just like if you live like there is no God, all of your pursuits will come to nothing. Yet "God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son so that whoever believes in him shall not perish but shall have everlasting life." You see we don't have a God of this universe who is impersonal who doesn't care for us. No he desires a relationship with us and the way that we know that is because he literally limited himself and came to earth as a man to show us the way to eternal life. He said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." When Jesus truly becomes the one you treasure above all else and when you look at Him, the blessed and only Sovereign, the King of kings and Lord of lords, He who dwells in unapproachable light, who no man has ever seen, and to whom belongs glory and eternal dominion. When you look at that and your heart becomes set upon nothing but His kingdom, He makes your path straight. He gives you work to do that will store up fruit in eternity that already today can earn you wages that will be everlasting. He will make our lives on this Earth not meaningless but full of far more meaning than we can even grasp, comprehend, or imagine. Lord, I just lift up every single reader of this post and ask that You would open their eyes, God, by the power of Your Spirit. That You would soften their hearts, Lord, and give them understanding by the fullness of Your power, Lord, because by human wisdom Your Kingdom cannot be grasped. So Lord, call them by Your Spirit that they may answer You, that they may repent and that they may live starting today for eternal life. Amen.

I’m 55 years old. I own a multimillion dollar plastic resin distribution and resale business which I started in 2003. I started another business selling rugs and home goods. Why? I want to show my kids what is possible. I also want to inspire others with my actions and sharing them on this platform. I’m teaching my kids, and others the value of time. Time should be our #1 priority. If you work a 9-5, you are strapped to a desk, punching a clock, rushing to be there on time, negotiating for PTO, putting in your vacation time early to get the week you want. Just typing this gives me anxiety. I lived that life for 6 years in my late 20’s and one day, I just left. Gave my 2 weeks notice and had no idea what I was going to do. The day I walked out that door, my uncommon life started. For the past 23 years, I do what I want, when I want, for however long I want. I’ve attended every one of my kids games, doctors appointments, and school functions. I take 7 vacations/year and have the freedom to play golf anytime I want. People often asked me if I had a job 😏 when I’d be the only parent at my son’s college baseball game at 2pm on a Wednesday in the middle of Pennsylvania. Does this mean I don’t work hard? Quite the opposite. Technology has given me the ability to work anywhere. I’ve made deals on the beach, the golf course, at Disneyworld, at a dentist appointment, everywhere. Time has become my obsession and I want it to become yours. By the way, I run my plastic business with 3 employees. Myself, my wife and my son. You don’t need to scale to be successful. I’ve tried it. It sucks to manage drama everyday. We run lean and mean. Same for the new business. Our time is always the priority. If an idea interferes with my freedom, it doesn’t happen. Just my philosophy, you can disagree and have different priorities, but we only have so much time left on this earth and you really don’t NEED to feel strapped to a 9-5. You just need to take action. No action means no progress. It’s means nothing changes. You don’t need a 3000 sq. ft. house, 2 car payments, a Rolex, designer clothes, etc. Scale back and start valuing time. I’ll be teaching you how to live an uncommon life like me because I believe in Karma. #onelife
