Focus on Joaquin. Pull focus to window. Gaga draws perfect smile. Pull focus back to Joaquin. Joaquin moves head. Joaquin smiles perfectly. You are in the hands of fucking professionals.

I think if you’ve ever been on a movie set, you just honestly know how fucking hard it is to nail stuff like this is. Like, fuck. I really be feeling like my team hit a game winner when I see shit like this.

Everybody is tired. Everybody is cold. Everybody is hungry. Everybody is frustrated. Everybody’s feet hurt. And then. On Take #17. You fucking get it.

If I had to guess where they pulled inspiration from. It’s probably the one-way mirror strip club in Paris, Texas (1984). Travis is trying to reconnect with his wife (Jane) after years of separation. Feels fitting for Joker and Harley. Jane even sounds like Harley here.

In the teaser, there’s this shot of colorful umbrellas in the rain. Made me realize the film is probably homage to the fantastic musical, The Umbrellas of Cherbourg (1964). I’ve put the teaser’s audio over a montage of Cherbourg and it fits so god damn well, lmao.

So, yeah. Cherbourg (1964) ends with Guy impregnating Geneviève. But, they’re unable to be together so Geneviève raises their kid without Guy. Joker (2019) establishes that Bruce Wayne is a kid. So, if you need a movie where Arthur Fleck (Joaquin) has a child…. 🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️

Saw some tweets saying the focus pulling described in the first tweet didn’t impress them. So, let me be clear: I don’t give a fuck about impressing cinephiles. All I care about is making people feel excited about movies. That tweet has 6M views. Official teaser has 6.5.
