In the teaser, there’s this shot of colorful umbrellas in the rain. Made me realize the film is probably homage to the fantastic musical, The Umbrellas of Cherbourg (1964). I’ve put the teaser’s audio over a montage of Cherbourg and it fits so god damn well, lmao.

So, yeah. Cherbourg (1964) ends with Guy impregnating Geneviève. But, they’re unable to be together so Geneviève raises their kid without Guy. Joker (2019) establishes that Bruce Wayne is a kid. So, if you need a movie where Arthur Fleck (Joaquin) has a child…. 🤷🏾‍♂️🤷🏾‍♂️🤷🏾‍♂️

Saw some tweets saying the focus pulling described in the first tweet didn’t impress them. So, let me be clear: I don’t give a fuck about impressing cinephiles. All I care about is making people feel excited about movies. That tweet has 6M views. Official teaser has 6.5.
