I'll say it now and I'll say it again this is why I left the respiratory therapy field. I was working in a long-term ventilator facility back in 2015. They purposely keep people on the ventilators to make sure they get their reimbursement. I repeat people are kept on ventilators for no reason other than for money.

i deal with insurance on daily basis and i admit that this is how they do it. Simply statistics, we are a number for them, and they look at us as random generated number that is requesting a procedure that is also labeled under specific code and so it becomes very easy to Deny a procedure for a number 263851 requesting procedure 978215 =request denied. And then — wait for it, your primary care doctor (in a managed care system) instead of recommending further diagnostic imaging (and to likely save the provider money) your primary care doctor advises you, “We’ll keep monitoring it, it’s small, and we’ll see you back in a year.” * Coal Heat * Smokes for over 40 years of her life * Over weight, loves sweets, but active In “trusting the science,” which of course is “your doctor,” and “their system,” you go back in a year: low and behold, you need more imaging, because the spot on your lung has not stayed little, in-fact your labs and imaging show otherwise — and what results from the testing that needed to be done 12 months earlier: Stage 4 Lung Cancer diagnosis. TA-DA 😡 — What Results: Death 9 months, later, when the lung cancer spreads to her brain, then her pancreas — but not before rounds of chemo, and radiation, and two more hospitalizations, and then a month of hospice. She actually died in denial that she was dying of cancer. True Story — A Family Member.

Medicine has been a sisnister experimemnt for as much profit as possible for over 7 decades!

That is why we no longer trust the medical field….they don’t train them in actual medical science - instead, they learn policies to make the hospital $. To all nefarious doctors out there, you are to blame for the loss of trust in the medical field. Keep”practicing” but it wontt be on me

I used to think we "couldn't afford this or that" when it came to this...but then I saw us waste over a trillion dollars in Iraq and Afghanistan alone. We need to take care of our people.
