Although the French Rafale is usually stronger on paper, its pilot was outmatched by the experienced U.S. pilot and lost the fight at the 18-second mark of the first video.

According to the Federal Highway Police (PRF), there were two people on board, the pilot and the owner of the plane, and no one was injured. The incident occurred around 11:50 am on Saturday at kilometer 15 of the highway, towards Porto Alegre (RS), according to the PRF. The police reported that the occupants of the plane left the Guaramirim aeroclub, also in the north of Santa Catarina, bound for the same place, but an engine failure forced the pilot to make an emergency landing on the highway.
