EDO STATE: The Governor of Edo State, Governor Monday Okpebholo, has continued to keep his promise to clamp down on cultism across the state. Following the recent clash between NBM (Aye) and GCAI (Maphite), the government has demolished the house of an NBM cultist in Amagba, with another demolition reportedly being planned in Obazagbon Community. This action sends a strong message that cult-related violence will not be tolerated in Edo State. This development comes after the biggest lie of the year was told by some in the taskforce when they labeled a clear and obvious cult clash as “revenue collection clash” and having nothing to do with cultism - a statement that downplayed the seriousness of the situation, just to protect a group, only to end up costing the lives of more Edo citizens. Credit must be given to the Edo Police and other members of the taskforce who acknowledged the reality and worked to fix the problem. Cultism must not be shielded or excused. Anyone who chooses that path must be ready to face the consequences. Other states should learn from Edo and Governor Okpebholo’s firm approach. Reject Cultism.

Deputy Prime Minister & Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar Ishaq Dar chaired the 7th meeting of the National Steering Committee on Fuel Subsidy. The Committee reviewed the rollout of fuel subsidy for motorcyclists, small farmers, public transport & goods transport in all provinces , GB & AJK. The Committee noted that global fuel prices have declined sharply, the benefit of which has already been passed on to the consumers, and agreed to discontinue the subsidy with the approval of the Prime Minister. DPM/FM appreciated the work of the committee marked by sustained interprovincial coordination and directed to document lessons learnt from this excercise, address gaps in data and delivery to strengthen future intiatives with a view to improve public service delivery. The meeting was attended by SAPM Tariq Bajwa, federal secretaries of Petroleum and IT, Governor SBP, and senior representatives from all provinces, GB & AJK.

Bille, a town of 30,000 people in Rivers State, Nigeria, sits next to abandoned oil and gas infrastructure. Since October 2025, methane has been bubbling up in rivers, swamps and drinking wells near the town. It is suspected that the oil and gas wells are the cause of these leaks. School children have had to relocate and members of Bille’s community are falling sick due to this. One resident told Amnesty International that the community is “no longer safe.” The Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission began investigating the leaks in April and ordered all operating companies nearby to find a solution. The state Governor also offered 100 million Naira (approximately 75,000 USD) to the Bille community to cover relief costs. But little has been done to stop the leaks, and Bille now faces a serious health emergency. Amnesty International continues to call for these investigations to be expedited. Immediate action must be taken to stop the gas leaks, and clean drinking water must be restored to Bille.

The Supreme Court order on stray dogs in Delhi is nothing but a death sentence for every single stray on every single street in the national capital - and each one of us needs to raise our voice against it to #SaveDelhiDogs. Listen, I’m not some animal rights activist. I think every single stray dog needs to be vaccinated, sterilised, and released into safe surroundings. Those who bite humans should be rehabilitated or put into a shelter. But how on EARTH and WHY are you putting EVERY SINGLE STREET DOG in Delhi in a shelter? Pehle toh aapke paas shelter nahi hai, aur order implement ABHI honi hai. What is the government doing? Releasing them into the forest! Into the ridge! How the hell will they survive? What is worse, they have absurd rules - you cannot adopt any dog that has been put into a shelter. So what will a puppy who has been picked up from the street today do? Live the rest of his life in a sarkari prison? The Supreme Court is correct to worry about a rise in rabies cases. But the solution is not this ABSURD, IMPRACTICAL, and INHUMAN plan to throw all our street dogs into poorly managed, poorly built shelters in the middle of nowhere. GLOBAL examples have shown that there is only ONE solution to this problem: vaccinate, sterilise, and release. The Supreme Court order on stray dogs in Delhi is nothing but a death sentence for every single stray on every single street in the national capital - and each one of us needs to raise our voice against it to #SaveDelhiDogs. Listen, I’m not some animal rights activist. I think every single stray dog needs to be vaccinated, sterilised, and released into safe surroundings. Those who bite humans should be rehabilitated or put into a shelter. But how on EARTH and WHY are you putting EVERY SINGLE STREET DOG in Delhi in a shelter? Pehle toh aapke paas shelter nahi hai, aur order implement ABHI honi hai. What is the government doing? Releasing them into the forest! Into the ridge! How the hell will they survive? What is worse, they have absurd rules - you cannot adopt any dog that has been put into a shelter. So what will a puppy who has been picked up from the street today do? Safety Checks Carried Out at Pattaya Entertainment Venues Following Deadly Bangkok Fire Following the deadly fire at an entertainment venue in Soi Lat Phrao 1, Bangkok, which claimed multiple lives and raised nationwide concerns about safety standards at nightlife venues, Chonburi Governor Naris Niramaiwong has ordered all relevant agencies to intensify inspections of entertainment businesses across the province.
