@followlasg @LasgMOE As much as we understand the environmental impact, bans are must be phased. You can give a 6 month timeframe as it will affect production lines The ministry should also begin to work towards clean up of such non biodegradable materials and provide proper disposal bins for them

@followlasg @LasgMOE Start with the companies producing them

@followlasg @LasgMOE “Immediate effect”. In a democracy, decisions are not made without consideration. There are genuine business owners that have this in stock, and there are manufacturers that produce this as a business. Shouldn’t this be phased out?

@followlasg @LasgMOE Please be forceful sir. This will help our drainages and canals

@followlasg @LasgMOE Good call

@followlasg @LasgMOE Is this legal? Is it practical? To do this with immediate effect?

@followlasg @LasgMOE Summary: The Lagos State government has announced an immediate ban on Styrofoam and other single-use plastics to address environmental concerns.

@followlasg @LasgMOE Banning is not the way Mr. Commissioner @tokunbo_wahab but recycling ♻️. There should also be an effective waste disposal system/policy in place with heavy penalties for defaulters.

@followlasg @LasgMOE STYROFOAM BAN? Yes! ✅ WITH IMMEDIATE EFFECT? No! ❌

@followlasg @LasgMOE This is very welcome. How do you ensure clean drinking water? One of the biggest culprits is water in bags and bottles.
