For all my UK peeps, Is this true?

It's missed out a few taxes. People can't even save up enough to leave. There is a reason the below went viral. Everyone knows deep down it's true.

absolutely spot on, our great nation is ruined..... a few years back we were saving money every month, me full time working, my wife part time..... we now both work full time and more and live from wage to wage... slaves to the system

Pretty much but requires some context. 45% tax rate only applies to income over £150k, which is still bad in my opinion, but doesn't affect most people. It's not much better below this though, as it's 40% on anything over £50k. £50k is a good salary, but you'd be by no means rich. 40% is far too high And in regards to inheritance tax, everyone has a nil rate band of £325k, and if your estate includes a residential property, then there's the residential nil rate band on top of that, which is £175k. So no inheritance tax payable on the first £500k if the estate includes a property, i.e. most people will never pay any inheritance tax. Not to mention that transfers to spouses are exempt from IT, and nil rate bands stack. So another £325k could be added to that £500k nil rate band, and another £175k if the spouse also has their own residential property. That said, it is 40% on anything above this, which whilst you could argue the people paying that tax can afford it, plenty of tax will have already been paid on that money, and it's definitely wrong for the government to take so much more of it at someone's death. Especially considering they'll do fuck all good with it.

Sadly yes with many other things too. Nobody can afford to enjoy life anymore, people are living day to day just to survive . 😒. I fear for my childrens future
