Otto (Gary Kasper) confronts Louden about dropping down to 168 to wrestle “The Shute” in this scene from VISION QUEST. Gary actually tried out for the role of Shute, but it ultimately went to Frank Jasper. That’s a young Forest Whitaker as “Balldozer” in the opening shot. Great tunes! This is a great trailer for the 4K release of FULL METAL JACKET. It premiered 39 years ago #OnThisDay in Beverly Hills, CA. It was the longest production I’ve ever been involved with. While working with Kubrick in London, we found out my wife was pregnant, my son was born, and he turned 1 — all before the film was complete. I’m often asked about the pegboard scene in VISION QUEST. That was all me. No stunt doubles or safety measures. I trained for a long time and had to climb it several times to get all the angles. The “trick” is not to over extend, so you’d be pulling up your entire body weight. You have to keep it compact. People complained that I didn't record my last food challenge, and so here's another one. I had to eat two 10-inch pancakes, a pound of home fries, six sausage links, six strips of bacon, and a six-egg Western omelette in less than 30 minutes. Once again, I received a shirt, compensation for my meal, and a picture on the wall, but they didn't put my picture on the wall immediately, and so I can't share it with you at this time.
