For decades, James Eetoolook has been focused on – and committed to – the process of devolution. As a signatory to the Nunavut Land Claims Agreement, he was an official witness to yesterday’s historic agreement. I spoke with James about what this milestone means. Take a look:

In my interview with i24NEWS English, I gave my analysis on the agreement between the US and the regime of the Islamic Republic. We must look at this from a few different perspectives: 1. The current situation, why an agreement was necessary for the US at this time, and why this is a point of defeat for the regime. 2. The nature of the agreement that was established between the two parties, which was in effect a 60-day ceasefire, and not really a peace agreement. 3. How likely is it for this agreement to actually take real shape? It should be noted that this is a complex hybrid warfare with carefully planned timelines. When taking into account all these intricate details, one will soon realise that yesterday’s agreement from an American perspective was highly calculated and strategically designed. 4. What are the chances of the Iranian regime’s survival? This needs no further explanation, as the regime has been dismantled from within, and the Islamic Republic that we have all known for 47 years no longer exists. #IRGCterrorists

Today, our government team reported on the economic partnership with the United States. We have an agreement. It has been signed and will be submitted to the Verkhovna Rada for ratification. And we are interested in having no delays with it. All our representatives did a good job. The agreement has changed significantly during the preparation process. It is now truly an equal partnership — one that creates opportunities for substantial investment in Ukraine, as well as significant modernisation of Ukraine’s industries and, equally importantly, its legal practices. The agreement foresees no debt. It stipulates the establishment of a Reconstruction Fund that will invest in Ukraine and generate returns in Ukraine. This means joint work with America, based on fair terms, allowing both Ukraine and the United States, which supports us in our defence, to make money in partnership. President Trump and I discussed our readiness to conclude this agreement during our meeting in the Vatican. In fact, this is the first tangible outcome of that Vatican meeting, making it historic. We look forward to other outcomes from that conversation — it was a meaningful meeting, and President Trump and I used every minute to the fullest. I thank him for that. And once again, I thank both our teams — the Ukrainian and the American.

After the signing of the agreement between DRC and Rwanda, people have remained sceptical as many agreements have been signed in the past but failed to produce lasting peace. Even now, although the agreement has been signed, each party seems to have its own understanding of the agreement, and they are still disagreement about how to proceed. It is my view that both parties signed the agreement under pressure from Washington without truly coming to an agreement about how to proceed.

To permanently and urgently end the decades old Tijuana River Sewage Crisis, yesterday’s signed agreement between the United States and Mexico, Minute 333, details several necessary Mexico side actions to be completed in 2026 and 2027 (with one project slated for 2028). No additional U.S. tax dollars have been obligated as part of this new agreement. While this cross-border health crisis doesn’t simply end with a stroke of a pen, the urgent completion of these agreed upon actions will finally result in an end to this human health catastrophe for good. Since my visit to this border region in April 2025, my team has been working VERY closely with Mexico on all measures necessary to end this crisis, and that level of engagement will be sure to continue to ensure ALL actions outlined in yesterday’s agreement, and our July Memorandum of Understanding, are implemented as quickly as humanly possible to deliver the long sought after 100% solution. Now, after refusing to neutralise the FDLR, Kinshasa feigns surprise that Rwanda has acknowledged a matter (the security coordination arrangement with M23) that was discussed and settled in the peace agreement. If the warning given earlier was not understood, then what comes next will be far more surprising.$
