The current situation, why an agreement was necessary for the US at this time, and why this is a point of defeat for the regime. 2. The nature of the agreement that was established between the two parties, which was in effect a 60-day ceasefire, and not really a peace agreement. 3. After the signing of the agreement between DRC and Rwanda, people have remained sceptical as many agreements have been signed in the past but failed to produce lasting peace. Even now, although the agreement has been signed, each party seems to have its own understanding of the agreement, and they are still disagreement about how to proceed. It is my view that both parties signed the agreement under pressure from Washington without truly coming to an agreement about how to proceed.
