For many people, development updates on Ashes is an opportunity to checkin with the project’s progress. It can be exciting, and a fun experience to sit down and watch a dream take form and come together. Functionally, these touch points offer a way for players to provide constructive feedback... and help validate direction. But there is another side to this process, that perhaps goes unnoticed… Each milestone, Intrepid comes together and celebrates our accomplishments. We reflect on the work we’ve done towards delivering on our goals. This culminates into a day long town hall where we review, as a company, our strengths and weaknesses. Introspectively we carry forward changes we need to make, in order to execute better and exemplify the things that worked well. Each town hall, opens with a sizzle video of our community and their thoughts on what they saw us deliver. Some may not know it, but at Intrepid, our livestream day is watching and reading what you all think of our work. That is what motivates us, and why I believe Intrepid will succeed. My goal in this budget process has always been to make sure we’re funding core, basic services in a balanced and disciplined manner. We know there is an inherent tension between asking people to pay rates, fees and taxes— and the issue of affordability. We want to make sure our city can provide the quality-of-life services that our residents deserve, but we also want to make sure we’re putting affordability first in our community. While I worry a lot about affordability, I also worry about the ability of our city to deliver quality services without more revenue. I strongly believe that if we're not making the kinds of investments we need to make in our people and our services, we will be managing decay in Austin in a very short period of time. This budget will not meet everyone’s concept of perfection. Truthfully, there are parts of the budget that I don’t like. That goes with living in a big, diverse city—different people will have different priorities, and we need to make room for all of us. Now, it is time for us to trust our voters. Voters have an opportunity in November to make a very important decision. From my perspective, the best part of this budget is that we fully fund our homeless strategy office. That was my greatest emphasis, and we've achieved it. It will make a world of difference in getting homeless people off the street in a very short period of time. I'm also very pleased with what we’ve added to funding for public safety, EMS, and wildfire prevention. A positive vote in the November tax rate election will allow us to pay for these needed services. And we make a significant investment in our parks. I look forward to a result that will be the best benefit of our community.

Yesterday was a big day for Intrepid. We hit the end of a significant development milestone, and are kicking off the next big chapter of our internal roadmap. We’ve flown our remote teams out to the studio for a week of planning and review, and we got to enjoy a wonderful day of festivities together. None of this would be possible without the fantastic culture we've cultivated at our studio. Our team is more than just colleagues; we're a family of absolute nerds united by a shared vision and boundless passion for the MMORPG genre.💪🎉❤️

To my fellow Irishmen and women, as a nation, we are at a crossroads, we are at the stage of no return. Our children aren't safe, they wont heat our elderly, they wont help our working people. They want to erase our culture, our flag and sell of our borders to the rich. As Vice President JD Vance Harris told us yesterday, now is not the time to throw up our hands. It’s time to “roll up our sleeves.” Despite the results, we as a City are moving forward, not looking in the rearview mirror. My Administration is laser focused on the work ahead of us, today, next week, next month, next year and beyond. Many have said that the differences and divisions in our world are too great for us to come together for the common good. But the Summit of the Future showed that with a spirit of dialogue and compromise, we can join forces to steer our world to a more sustainable path. As this year’s #UNGA activities wind down, we must remember that this is not the end. It is in all our interests to choose the future we want and to guide our world towards it. The journey continues. Let’s keep going.
