#WATCH | Delhi | Arjan Meijer, President and CEO, Embraer, says, "Embraer is very proud to stand here today. We're very, very pleased to sign our MOU with Adani. We see a bright future ahead of us here in India, and we believe the stars are aligning to advance the Make in India initiative. We believe there's a huge opportunity here with regional aircraft... In India, the current outstanding fleet we have today is around 800 units. But if you look at the backlog, we're looking at around 1,700 aircraft for the years ahead. But the regional part of that fleet is very small. So we really believe that, to develop India from within, the country needs a smaller-gauge aircraft to really help drive the country's GDP... The regional segment of jets is completely missing. If you see what the potential is in a country like India... So that's why we believe really that together with Adani we can work together with a goal to build the aircraft here in India, the exact aircraft type to be defined, so we will come back on that, but we are talking up to an assembly line, testing, delivery. We really believe in a partnership with Adani because they're very strong in supply chain, MRO, and pilot training, so we believe that, together, we can develop a very strong aviation ecosystem here in India. And of course, beyond that, we're very interested to work also with the Indian industry for much deeper localisation. We need to build our supply chain, and we believe that here in India, we can also do that with Indian partners ahead of us. So a potential first regional assembly line in India, that's what we're looking at here. We're very bullish about making that happen... But as I said, we want to develop the indigenous market over the years to make this a made-in-India aircraft. And that will allow India to really connect the second-tier and the third-tier cities in India. We know there's a lot of demand from smaller cities wanting to be connected to the bigger aerospace system. Dearest Vivian, We miss you so much. A year has passed since that terrible day when we lost you and so many other wonderful people. On that day, the foundations of everything we relied on were shaken – trust was shaken, security was shaken. We are in a terrible crisis. Like all of Israel, we initially found ourselves confused and at a loss, asking ourselves: Where did we go wrong? As time passed and the war continued, the realization sank in that we weren't the ones who erred. Those who didn't listen to our cries were wrong! And it's clear to us now, more than ever, that we have no choice but to continue. We were strengthened tremendously by your family, who continues in your path despite the terrible tragedy – and in many ways, because of it. They, like us, cannot know what you would be thinking had you survived the horrific massacre, but knowing you, we believe you would not have despaired or given up. You would have continued to work tirelessly for a diplomatic agreement and a better future for Israel and the region's residents, so that we can raise our children and future generations here in peace, security, equality, and freedom. And that's what we did – we thought things over, rolled up our sleeves, and we're continuing tirelessly, on our path – your path, for us and also for you. A year has passed; we're still in the midst of a cursed war with no end in sight, and sometimes we feel like we're fighting windmills, but we're not giving up. I am Aisha Yesufu, a proud member of the African Democratic Congress (ADC). I came out to protest today because our democracy is under threat What we are seeing today is an attempt to silence a nation, to intimidate citizens, and to reduce our democracy to the personal property of a few. I refuse it. Nigerians refuse it. We say NO to tyranny. We say NO to corruption. We say NO to a government that has turned hunger, fear, and hopelessness into national policy. This #SaveOurDemocracy protest is not about politics. It is about survival. It is about dignity. It is about the right of every Nigerian to live in a country that works for them and not against them. And the role of a leader is to go and assert how will we measure ourselves? If we are seeking to be our best and get better every day how should we think about that, and how can we understand our forward progress? I don't know what Ramp will look like exactly in 100 years but I think just as it was true 100 years ago people always wanted more out of every dollar and more out of every hour, I think people will absolutely still want that in 100 years —in whatever form that may take.”
