For more than a week now, trash has been piling up as garbage workers in Paris and other French cities have been on strike, protesting President Emmanuel Macron’s plan to raise the age when most workers begin collecting a government pension to 64, from 62.

imagine going to paris for the first time and not knowing about the strike and expecting it to be like emily in paris but ended up looking like new york city instead lol

This also happens to be the Republican’s plan in the United States. They want to raise the age that Americans can get social security all the way up to 70 years old. In 2022, they released a proposal to do just that! Take note Republicans: Americans, like the French, will not approve.
