Thank you. I was in college in 2001. I remember it was a uniform day for ROTC, and I was heading out for class and my apartment building manager stopped me and we watched the second plane hit the tower. I thought he was showing me an action movie at first till he told me it was real and I was in shock. I rushed to the ROTC building because if things got really bad, we would get more information or possibly pulled and sent off early if it was WWIII. In the first hours we had no clue... We got told to go back and change out of uniforms so we wouldn’t be as obvious a target just in case. We didn’t know how big or widespread the attacks would be. A couple months after the attacks, I was leading the Color Guard, carrying the American flag in a parade. The crowds leapt to their feet and went wild. The unity and patriotism was so strong and inspiring. Even though we had been bloodied, we felt like we would come out stronger than ever and crush any enemy. The following year, that zeal in the crowd was half-gone. Only half stood. It was very telling. Still, nobody would have believed our nation would hand over leadership to Dems and RINOs who would hamstring operations or cede ground to the enemy, costing us more lives and dollars. Nobody then would have believed New York would elect an Islamist mayor, or that entire cities would be taken over by Islamists who want to destroy America and the free world, including Japan. We need to remember. We need to keep fighting.

I cant forget, I was in art class in high school when the news happened that day. It hit me harder than most as my mother is a flight attendant for American airlines. I didn't have a phone at the time and when it was announce that the planes that hit the towers were AA planes i feared the worst. Thankfully when I got home she was on the phone telling me she was okay but some of her friends were not so lucky. This is not a big thing for most compared to that day but it was my own experience that shaped me into joining the Air Force later in life to serve and stand for my fellow brothers and sisters in arms united together.
