I honestly don't understand Trevor Noah's point. Poor blacks in South Africa are having trouble understanding that apartheid is gone because they don't see the dividends. They are now owned by middle class politicians and intellectuals, just like in Nigeria where poor folks do not understand that this dispensation is better than colonialism or military dictatorship. It's their way of processing their dilemma and of loudly holding the vagabonds in power accountable. I am reluctant to dismiss their angst. It's more complicated than Trevor Noah's analysis allows. And man, you visit today's South Africa, and you just wish that Nigeria has her problems. The infrastructure is robust. Processes and structures that they inherited from apartheid work.
