It requires an extraordinary depth of ignorance to romanticise colonialism.

I honestly don't understand Trevor Noah's point. Poor blacks in South Africa are having trouble understanding that apartheid is gone because they don't see the dividends. They are now owned by middle class politicians and intellectuals, just like in Nigeria where poor folks do not understand that this dispensation is better than colonialism or military dictatorship. It's their way of processing their dilemma and of loudly holding the vagabonds in power accountable. I am reluctant to dismiss their angst. It's more complicated than Trevor Noah's analysis allows. And man, you visit today's South Africa, and you just wish that Nigeria has her problems. The infrastructure is robust. Processes and structures that they inherited from apartheid work. We are not okay. PS1. And yes, colonialism and apartheid were a cancer on our people. Many facts can exist at the same time.😍 PS2. I love Trevor Noah! Brilliant and funny dude. Many facts can exist at the same time.😍

Great from Noah but this is basic knowledge. Anyone with a phone can in two secs to read about how the idea of G.R.A.s in Nigeria came to be. It really pisses me off when I see stupid, defeated Nigerians talking shit about “it was good then, the hospitals worked. F***ing idiots!

This is also a good reminder when they come knocking on our door again. Which seems likely, given what is happening to Greenland.

It is called rosy retrospection. It is a cognitive bias that many people have.

Ikoyi always worked when the colonialists were around, Calabar was working….how come we can’t maintain simple sanitation in Aba, Lagos and other cities ? Not to mention town planning of epileptic national grid

People actually know what they are saying, if a white man wins an election in South Africa, the system will work. It works in White neighborhoods . We can keep pretending like things didn't actually work, we can keep Pretending that we are not getting ripped off by our Politician
