For reference on how crazy lake effect snow can be, Chesterton, Indiana has picked up close to a foot of snow in the last 3 hours. It will take all day for areas in the heaviest snow bands to reach a foot in the SE tomorrow.

This really visualizes how much Lake Effect snow Erie, PA & much of the Lower Great Lakes has seen. Over 20" of snow over the last 24 hours for some areas along The Great Lakes - with highest totals pushing 30 INCHES in Erie, PA. #PAwx

🚨Models are starting to LOCK IN on where the Heaviest Snow and Strongest Winds will be with our upcoming Bomb Cyclone. ✅ Every Weather Model is now on board with a DUMPING of snow across the Carolinas, with some spots getting several inches and some spots getting up to 1 Foot! ❄️ The highest Snow Totals will fall closest to the center of the Nor’easter in coastal North Carolina and Virginia, where up to a foot of snow is possible. 🎯 Cities like Raleigh, Wilmington, Virginia Beach, and the Outer Banks will see Blizzard conditions for much of the day Saturday as snow piles up and winds really start to CRANK. ⬅️ Further inland, Heavy Snow is also likely in Charlotte, Columbia, Greenville, and Asheville, with totals generally in the 3–6 inch range. 🌨️ Elsewhere in the Northeast, models currently agree this storm largely misses you, with lighter snow of 2–4 inches possible in Delaware, Maryland, and into Nantucket. ➡️⬅️ There is still time for small east or west shifts, but each new model run lowers those odds. ⚠️ We know this will be a big storm for our Carolina brotheren. Winter Storm Watches are already out, and several may be upgraded to Blizzard Warnings by Friday. 🔒 Lock in, my brotheren. A Blizzard is coming. ❄️🌬️

Still snowing, got to be close to a foot of snow. Many beans still out around here and the corn just lost 4 feet in height.

The snow is falling in Ishpeming Michigan. Parts of the UP could get 3 to 4 feet of snow. Thanks to T Hyttinen for the video.

Guys, I don’t think people are fully grasping just how INSANE this Blizzard is about to be. ❄️ Snow is going to BURY the Midwest, with someone likely getting 3–4 FEET in spots. The Snow will be coming down incredible rates of 2–4 inches per hour OR MORE for much of the event. 💨 On top of that, Winds will be gusting close to 70 MPH, which will create true whiteout conditions for almost 24 hours straight... Imagine how MASSIVE the Snow Drifts will be. HUGE 👊 Hang tight, my brotheren. The Blizzard of March 2026 has begun.

⬆️The NORTHERN TRENDS are holding (for now) in the latest 12z model runs that came in just now. ❄️ Most Guidance now places the heaviest Snow Zone from Oklahoma through southern Missouri, Kentucky, southern Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and into the lower Northeast. 🌨️ Snow Totals in the hardest hit areas will likely accumulate to 6–12 inches, with someone likely topping a Foot+. ↕️More Shifts are still likely over the next 48 hours, so I’ll continue posting updates as trends evolve. 🧊 FREEZING RAIN STILL remains a major concern in the South, with devastating Ice Accumulations still possible in some areas. These northern shifts do NOT change the overall impact. This is still a HIGH IMPACT Winter Storm for millions. More updates to come. I’m pulling for EPIC Snow for all of you. 👊 See you on the next one, my brotheren

Mississauga has received up to 45 cm of snow. All of our resources are currently deployed: ▪️Crews have been working around the clock to clear major roads for emergency vehicles and transit. ▪️ Overnight, equipment began moving into residential neighbourhoods to complete the first round of plowing on roads, sidewalks and to clear space in driveway windrows. This work is ongoing. ▪️ Work is also underway this morning to begin clearing bus stops. With so much snow on the ground, clean up on all surfaces will take time. Multiple rounds of plowing will be required to clear snow aside and additional work will be required in the coming days to remove snow from areas where it can’t be piled, such as bridge decks and intersections. ⚠️Reminder: A Citywide Winter Parking Restriction remains in effect until further notice. Remove parked vehicles from the street. #Mississauga #ONStorm

🚨 An absolutely LUDICROUS amount of Snow is about to fall out West as a TRAIN of Storms pushes onshore. ❌This comes as our West Coast brotheren have been dealing with RECORD low Snowpack, with many ski resorts forced to close parts of their mountains due to a lack of Snow. That is ALL about to change next week as an Atmospheric River delivers a near constant FEED of moisture into the West. ❄️ The heaviest Snow remains on track to fall in the Sierra Nevada, where 4 to 8 FEET or more could pile up early this week. 🏔️ Heavy Snow will also dump into the Rockies, including Colorado and Utah. Here, 1 Foot or more could fall over several days. 🌲 The Cascades will see PLENTY of Snow as well, with 1 to 2 FEET likely in the higher elevations. 🌧️ Lower elevations along the West Coast, including Seattle, could see a few Snow Flakes mix in, but little to no accumulation is expected. ✅This is FANTASTIC news for our mountain loving brotheren out West who have been DYING for Snow. It will also do wonders for the California and Rocky Mountain Snowpack, which desperately needs the boost. 👊 Enjoy the Snow, my mountain loving brotheren.

❄️ SNOWFALL REPORT: Week of 2/16 to 2/23 ❄️ This upcoming week will feature 2 very DISTINCT areas of Heavy Snow, and both could be absolute CRUSH jobs. 1⃣ The 1st and most significant area of Snow will focus in the Western mountains. This is something I have been highlighting for days now, and the forecast has not changed. 🗻Here, Heavy Snow has already begun in California in the Sierra Nevada. Over the next several days, 3 separate Storm Systems will bring an almost constant feed of moisture onshore into California, Colorado. and Utah, DUMPING Snow in the mountains along the way. Most of the West Coast Snow will fall Monday through Wednesday, with some lingering into Thursday, and they'll be measuring totals in FEET, not inches Here is a summary from heaviest to lightest⬇️ 🗻 Sierra Nevada (California): 4 to 8 FEET 🗻 Rockies (Utah): 1 to 2 FEET 🗻 Rockies (Colorado): 1 to 2 FEET 🗻 Cascades (WA and OR): Up to 1 FOOT ❄️The second area of Heavy Snow will focus in a strip from the Upper Midwest into portions of the Northeast. ❄️Here, an organizing Storm System will drop a swath of Snow from northern Minnesota, Wisconsin, the UP of Michigan, through Vermont, New Hampshire, Upstate New York, and even Massachusetts starting Thursday morning and continuing into Friday. ❄️Totals in the Upper Midwest will likely range 4 to 10 inches, with similar amounts possible in the Northeast. The exact axis of Heavy Snow will likely shift some as we get closer. ☹️Elsewhere, Snow is not likely this week. The GFS does show a Snow Storm moving through the heart of the country late next weekend, but until other Models come onboard, I'm not calling for anything significant. I’m glad my Western brotheren are FINALLY getting some quality Snow. They need it big time. 👊See you on the next one, my Snow loving brotheren

Wild conditions this morning in Boulder. About a foot of very heavy and wet snow fell and was less than ideal to hike through for sunrise 🤣 But it is all worth it when you reach the summit #cowx

A old Ukrainian lady close to the front lines wrote in her garden in the snow. ''I Ask For Bread'' A Drone Pilot then packed a bag of Aid for her and imediately took it to her. She then wrote another message in the snow to Thank the drone operator. Here is the video.

The hits keep coming!! After a record slow start in California, the end of December has been epic, and that continues for the next 10 days. 4-7 feet of snow in the highest elevations of the Sierra-Nevada and up to a foot of rain below. Buckle up!

SNOW-EFFECT SNOW?!? ❄️ As Arctic air surged south across deep snow cover in the Central U.S., it was able to pick up moisture, similar in concept (but weaker) to classic lake-effect processes. Once that cold airmass moved over snow-free, relatively warmer ground, low-level instability increased. That promoted rising motion and cloud formation, much like when Arctic air pours off the continent and out over the ocean. 🌨️ The end result: scattered snow showers and flurries showing up on radar across parts of MS, AL, TN, and KY.

We have received 19.1" (48.5 cm) of #snow in the last day. Snowpack at the lab is now 102% of median to date. Conditions have already deteriorated this morning with gusty winds and significantly reduced visibility. The next 24 hours will be the heaviest portion of the storm.
