For second consecutive Friday I remain under house detention — with every lane and by-lane to my residence barricaded, causing inconvenience to the entire neighbourhood . Let me make it clear to the rulers , the memory of our martyrs cannot be regulated by them. It resides in our... hearts . Facts and history cannot be erased by lockdowns and barring people from visiting the martyrs graveyards or stopping me from going to Jama Masjid on Fridays , not by appeasing narratives or shameful communal distortions, if it resides in the collective memory of people, which it does. The Marty’s of July 13 1931 were the frontrunners of the political movement in Kashmir; a people’s just struggle against oppression. They are and will remain our inspiration.show more

The diktat from the Bangla Birodhi Zamindars that MPs cannot say ‘Jai Hind’ or even ‘Vande Mataram’ in Parliament is an attack on the very soul of our democracy. ‘Vande Mataram’ is our national song. ‘Jai Hind’ is the slogan of every Indian. These are not empty words; they were the cries of those who fought and sacrificed for our freedom. To try and erase them is to try and erase our history. Is this what they mean by governance, silencing the voice of a state that has always stood for democracy, secularism, and the unity in diversity of our country? Bengal is not outside India. It is not a footnote to be ignored. It is an integral, proud part of this nation. And let it be clear: we will not let anyone erase our identity, our history, or our rightful voice in Parliament. Today, from the stage of Shahid Dibas, I paid my tributes to the martyrs who laid down their lives on July 21, 1993, for something as fundamental as the right to vote freely. I was overwhelmed by the strength, discipline and unity of lakhs of Trinamool Congress workers who travelled from every corner of Bengal to make this solemn event a resounding success. Each year, this gathering becomes more powerful, not just in numbers, but in spirit. We are now in BATTLE MODE for 2026. Unlike BJP, which survives on the might of money, agencies, and propaganda, Trinamool Congress is powered by the WILL OF THE PEOPLE. The BANGLA-BIRODHI ZAMINDARS, in their arrogance, have repeatedly insulted our language, our culture, our icons and our identity. From desecrating the bust of Vidyasagar to weaponising the Assam Foreigners Tribunal to target Bengali-speaking citizens in our state, their every move exposes their contempt for Bengal. If they insult the language we say ‘Maa’ in, we will speak it louder. If they try to erase our identity, we will etch it deeper. This fight for 2026 is a MORAL and CONSTITUTIONAL one. If BJP dares to tamper with Bengal’s voter rolls or attempts to push our people into detention camps, we will not remain silent. We will fight democratically, fearlessly, and if necessary, take the movement to Delhi once more. Today we honour 64 years since the proclamation of West Papua’s national identity on December 1st, 1961. This video captures a historic and emotional moment: the People of West Papua standing together with the ULMWP Provisional Government and the People’s Representative Council (PR PWP) in a united celebration across our land. From the capital Port Numbay to the mountains, valleys, islands, and coastlines of all seven regions of West Papua, our people raised their voices, their culture, and their spirit as one. Despite the challenges, the intimidation, and the risks, West Papuans showed once again that our identity, our unity, and our dream for freedom cannot be erased. This 64th anniversary is not only a celebration — it is a reminder of our long journey, our resilience, and the unbroken hope carried from generation to generation. The people remain strong. #WATCH Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir: PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti, along with other party leaders and workers, paid tribute to the martyrs of July 13, 1931. She said, "Today is July 13, and on this day, 22 Kashmiris sacrificed their lives outside the Central Jail in Srinagar... I regret that at that time, a movement against the British was underway across the entire country... Our people who were martyred in 1931 for the sake of people's rule are our heroes..."

Again disallowed from going to Jama Masjid on a Friday for the second consecutive week . As I raise people’s issues and concerns from the pulpit as is my duty, it seems to make the authorities jittery and uncomfortable , so lock him up! As if by locking me up issues will disappear and realty altered. But an authoritarian mindset can’t think beyond .. strongly condemn my house arrest and the imprisonment of thousands of Kashmiri prisoners who are victims of this mindset.

Alhamdulillah! allowed by the authorities to attend the Friday prayers at #JamaMasjid and address the faithful after a gap of one month. As the Mirwaiz it is my duty to utilise this pulpit to call attention to issues that affect our society—be they of religious, political, social or economic nature ,and provide guidance in the light of Islamic teachings and values and on moral principles. Every Friday we are left wondering whether I will be allowed to go and fulfill my responsibilities . This uncertainty is not just for me—it affects the entire community, which for generations looks to this pulpit for guidance on matters of faith and on issues and challenges faced by them . I sincerely hope that from now onwards the approach of creating hurdles and imposing restrictions will cease , and I will be uninterruptedly allowed to do my job.
