For the first time in a generation, an advanced nuclear power plant will be developed and constructed upstate — bringing clean, reliable, and affordable energy to millions of New Yorkers.

Finally, NY wakes up to nuclear’s potential—clean, reliable energy for factories and homes. But let’s be clear: Hochul’s sudden embrace of advanced reactors mirrors Trump’s push to fast-track nuclear innovation, exposing decades of Democratic hypocrisy. Remember when they shut down Indian Point, spiking fossil fuel use? This plant’s 1,600 construction jobs and 1,200 permanent roles prove efficiency beats green virtue signaling. Yet, where’s the accountability for NYPA’s costs? Taxpayers deserve transparency, not more bureaucratic bloat masked as progress. Real leadership? Cutting red tape, not just copying Trump’s energy playbook. The real test is whether New York delivers results or just more political theater—see the facts:

We had Indian Point, what happened to that clean, reliable energy? Oh right, "green initiatives". Looking forward to voting you out and voting @EliseStefanik in.

Should have kept Indian Point running. Then this would be *additional* "clean, reliable, and affordable" energy. And did you really use the term "affordable" in relation to NY's energy? NY is among the highest in energy costs.

Maybe NY should have thought about that before shutting down a perfectly good nuclear plant that supplied 25% of NYC's power. Indian Point was mostly replaced with more expensive carbon-emitting natural gas plants. Just more government driving up NY cost of living...

Nuclear power could be clean and cheap if bureaucrats would get out of the way.

This is actually the first good news I have heard from you in a long time. The bad news is that you've turned NYS into such an overall shit hole, why would any nuclear engineers want to relocate to upstate NY?
