Those who think the SDF wants peace are delusional. The SDF militia continues to dig tunnels in Raqqa city. Civilians in Raqqa are now literally living above a vast network of tunnels. The SDF has no problem sacrificing the Arab population of Raqqa.

Situation on Raqqa [18/1/2026]: [18:00] In northern Raqqa, the SNA began advancing south of Tel Abyad, taking positions previously abandoned by the SDF, and reached the agricultural area and the water canal. The town of Ayn Issa remains under SDF control despite continuous assault and bombardment by the SNA. In the rest of the governorate, the SDF has withdrawn to Hasakah or continues to withdraw, and fighting continues in Raqqa. Following the uprising of tribal groups, the governorate capital was taken pending the arrival of the STG, which happened later. However, pockets of SDF resistance continue to skirmish with the militants while receiving support from Division 17 Army Base and other military outposts north of Raqqa. The reasons for this resistance are to buy time for a complete withdrawal and to avoid what happened in Maskanah and Deir Hafer the previous day. Map: [ ]

In Damascus a demonstration against the SDF is being held - 10 people have shown up!! 💚💪🏼 In the second video, these 10 people have started to fight against each other - a testimony of the deep divisions within Syria. The third video shows the demonstrators attacking 2 young men who have demonstrated against the SDF as well - someone in the demonstration camp claimed these 2 men to be members of the PKK, subsequently the mob tried to lynch them. In both cases, STG MoI forces had to intervene. These demonstrations are strongly promoted events - week after week, Syrian media outlets call for mass demonstrations, calling for the Syrian Government to attack the SDF and to exterminate the Kurds; using the PKK as a substitute term. Week after week less people show up to these demonstrations, they started with 100+ protestors and are now reduced to a handful - this is very evident in Damascus. Syria yearns for peace and stability, not another senseless war - especially when the SDF and the Jolani-Government are in agreement on unification.
