A statement from the Kirkuk International Airport Administration "At 11:30 p.m., three rockets of unknown origin landed, two on the military side and one on the civilian side, causing a fire in the grass near the gate on the military side. The fire was extinguished by the heroes of the Kirkuk International Airport Fire Department. One person was slightly injured as a result of the attack, and there was no damage to the runway. Not all airport facilities were affected. Thankfully, the heroic Kirkuk Operations Command and units present around the airport responded quickly. Before every training session, the Sudanese national team lines up and the captain shouts "السودان يعيش" (Sudan Ya3ish) which means "Sudan is alive". This is a tradition that predates the war in Sudan but is a symbol that has taken on a whole new meaning in the last three years. Everyone in this team knows someone who has been killed in the war and they have been in exile for three years. And yet they are here at the AFCON, getting to the Ro16 and competing with the very best on the continent. For me, Sudan have already achieved more at this AFCON than any other team. السودان يعيش
