This is what Shinjuku looks like today. Public safety and order have clearly deteriorated compared to the past. Under former Governor Shintaro Ishihara, crime was strictly controlled, and Shinjuku became a much safer area. In recent years, however, problems have been increasing again. It’s time for Tokyo’s administration to make public safety a top priority once more. By the way, the current Governor of Tokyo is Yuriko Koike.
