I originally posted this in April 2025. This woman is from Dublin, Ireland. She explains the situation where she lives…… • The population there is about 85% foreign nationals. • Walking down the street or in the supermarket and she doesn’t hear hear Irish conversations anymore. • Her daughter is 1 of 30 in a class and she’s the only Irish child. She came home crying because she doesn’t understand what any of the children are saying as they revert back to their own languages. • Her daughter could not dress up for Halloween. The school said it was because they didn’t want to offend people. • She doesn’t go for a walk at the park by herself anymore because it’s unsafe. • She rarely leaves her house anymore because it’s so unsafe where she lives. #Ireland

The saddest part of this pathetic situation is that they know they’re ignorant, but they don’t care. The worst part for America is that they still vote. She added that some parties are encouraging her daily to turn March and March into a political party. She said she does not understand how she could enter the system while still fighting against the same system, as that would betray the trust of the people and go against everything she has stood for. According to her, maybe in the next few years, if there is a need for her to assist, she would consider joining. But for now, her focus is to grow March and March, build patriotism among South Africans, and ensure that people never forget who they are, so that they never again allow a government to treat them the way this one has treated them.

Had an interesting conversation this weekend with an older relative who's politics are "just be a good person". She's relatively wealthy and gives to the types of causes you would expect this type of person to give. She gives her time too. She is actually a good person. I asked her if she was ever concerned that the causes she gave to would reduce the proportion of people like her in the world. She said that she thought the opposite. That she was inspired by the generosity and kindness of others, and that by giving she would increase the proportion of people like her. I said I believed she inspires her peers, but her peers aren't the people she's giving money to. Do they become productive and generous people, like her? Or is she just increasing the proportion of people who are takers and don't give anything back? Despite decades of generosity, this was clearly a question she had never thought about. The implications made her uncomfortable, and the conversation basically ended after that.
