Was this not also used in Baldesian Arsenal to try and avoid the Doom debuff from Sacrifice? I’m sure I remember some stilly attempts being made with shields, cover, etc.

lmao I remember this in DRS, our party leaders had to keep reminding people DO NOT CAST PROTECT/SHELL/BUBBLE ON PEOPLE we know you think you are helping but you are doing the OPPOSITE!

This is also very likely the reason they're allergic to implementing dot-focused rotations because they wanted to avoid the debuff limit an enemy could have when 8 or more players are slamming it with 3 things at once each. Honestly I wonder if they've hit their limit on ffxiv.

Remember that day in Endwalker when party buffs were just completely broken and having two bards or dancers would result in all kinds of nonsense? That was a result of a failed attempt to fix the buff cap iirc.

I don’t understand how this issue has never been fixed and yet they insist on making 48 man content. Not that it shouldn’t exist, but why haven’t they tackled that issue before making it? What a disaster.

It's incredible how long this issue has been around, surely it's from legacy code, but even then, looks easier to build it from the ground again like mobile at this point
