You won't believe it, but Kate Foster was appointed as the UK's Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations in New York on July 1. For those who don't know her, while serving as the UK's Ambassador to Somalia, she played a key role in opposing the Blue Revolution in northeastern Somalia, a movement that ultimately drove the separatist forces out of northeastern Somalia and confined them to northwestern Somalia, leading to the establishment of what is now the Northeastern Federal State of Somalia, which covers around 45% of the territory claimed by Somaliland. And, by coincidence, the British Ambassador to Somalia visited Somaliland today! The United Kingdom remains the biggest foreign obstacle to Somalia's unity❗️

We, the people of the Gadabuursi (Samaroon) clan, are sending this message to Yemen to make it clear that the Houthis must not attack Awdal State of Somalia. The people of Awdal are the rightful owners of their land and will not allow Israel or any of its allied forces to enter their territory. As Awdal State of Somalia shares a maritime border with Yemen, there is no hostility between us only a relationship based on peace, mutual respect, and neighborly coexistence.

Somaliland operates as a dictatorial system where there is no genuine press freedom, and any voice that opposes the project of dividing Somalia is actively suppressed. They waged war against Awdal and subdued the region militarily despite its population’s clear rejection of secession.
