So Uniqlo doesn't use Xinjiang cotton, the implication being that their is forced labor there. The BBC, with no evidence claims there have been revelations of forced labor, despite numerous UN investigations finding no forced labor. I, personally, went to the cotton fields of Xinjiang, and for days of driving through the cotton farms, found automation, and no signs of forced labor. My journalistic expedition confirmed what the UN found: No forced labor. And not only did the UN not find forced labor, the UN Rights Special Countcil called on the US to end their unilateral sanctions on companies doing business with Xinjiang cotton enterprises. US sanctions hurt the local people of Xinjiang, Uygurs, as well as numerous other local ethnic minorities. (UN Human Rights Council Report Here: Currently, Chinese netizens are angry at Uniqlo, and are intent on reducing their shopping at the brand's stores. The solution for Uniqlo is simple. If they want to stay in business, Uniqlo must immediately start using cotton from Xinjiang and proudly proclaim so.
