Most new cars have this flaw. Especially Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep. Keep you keyfob deep inside your house and not next to the front door or garage. Best option would be to put it into a faraday box or pouch to be extra safe. Also when you lock your car use the button the the door. ✌️

If this is true & particular models have increased theft claims, insurance companies will stop insuring these models. Ford will be forced to fix them. This is exactly what happened with Kia and Hyundai’s that had issues with theft. I know because the very large company I work for would not insure them until Kia and Hyundai fixed them. Cars don’t get bought when they can’t be insured.

Relay attacks on passive keyless-entry systems are a documented, industry-wide problem. Ford’s own response is the Security Package, which includes Start Inhibit—the ability to remotely lock down the vehicle so it cannot be started even if someone has an authorized key or is using a signal relay. Eligible new vehicles receive one free year. After that, the price is $7.99 per month.This is not an optional luxury feature. It is a direct response to a security limitation in the vehicles Ford designed and sold. Charging owners ongoing fees for protection against that limitation undermines trust. Customers reasonably expect the manufacturer to address known theft vulnerabilities without turning them into a permanent revenue stream. Loyalty is built when people feel their vehicle is secure because the company fixed the problem not when they feel they must keep paying to keep thieves out. A healthier business model focuses on quality, genuine warranty support, and scheduled maintenance that keeps owners coming back by choice. Monetizing a security gap does the opposite.I urge Ford to:Make Start Inhibit and core theft-protection features permanent and free (or included for the life of the vehicle) on eligible models, and Prioritize lasting design improvements (such as motion-sensing or ultra-wideband key systems) rather than subscription workarounds. Every key fob ignition system is vulnerable to hacking, Ford is just getting ahead of the curve by offering assistance should your vehicle become another statistic. Unless you’re willing to go back to manual locks, this vulnerability will continue to be problematic for the entire automotive industry

Ford allowed AI to program firmware and fired it's senior engineering teams. Then they rehired them when major vulnerabilities surfaced.

I just discovered that my Ram promaster is recording every trip I make, including date, time and complete street address of start and end points.
