During an interview this morning, Babu Owino has decried the state of the nation, where the state has taken a stance to hire young people as goons, drawing them into violence instead of meaningful employment. He has emphasised the urgent need to invest in manufacturing and build industries as a sustainable way to creating large scale job opportunities, and ultimately addressing the challenge of the youth bulge. In this regard, Babu has highlighted the importance of strengthening the key drivers of manufacturing, particularly the need to enhance Kenya’s energy generation capacity. He has also underscored the need to get Kenya back on track with the Vision 2030 agenda.

The Montana Plan offers a practical, lawful solution to tackle one of the biggest issues underlying everything else we care about: reclaiming democratic control and putting power back in the hands of regular people, not special interests. Voters in Montana have an important opportunity this year to stand up to absurd amounts of corporate money being spent to distort their elections. I’m encouraging everyone in the state to back this state initiative - and for those of us across the country to support efforts like this to make our government and elected officials more accountable to the people they're meant to serve.
