There is a THIRD fire on Westside Road, south of La Casa. Some people have been evacuated. Fortunately the fire at Bear Creek Park didn't close Westside road at the south end, because it is closed to the north by the Bradely fire.

Human caused again like normal

Man caused...that close to the rd. FFS.

Arson, terrorism. Death penalty.

Must have been an errant lightning strike from that non-existent thunderstorm. Definitely not careless human activity, from campers using the nearby camping facility.

Thing is, lots of southern Albertans use the Trans-Canada through there to the Okanagan or the coast. Pentiction, Kelowna, all those🇨🇦holiday spots. I'm not sure if it’s the town or the TCH in danger but some August holiday travel plans are gone awry. Say a little 🙏 Animals,too.

I am no expert but does anyone else find the line of fire beside the road suspicious? It almost looks as though someone drove along with a gas can pouring a thin line of fuel that was then ignited.

No emergancy in BC accoring to their uninformed forestry minister Parmar.. the folks that elected have to throw him out of offce next election as he and the BCNDP on whole have put the lives, properety, livestock, livelyhoods in danger with their lies and lack of resources .

This is not in Vernon, its near Vernon on Westside Road or the native reserve across from Vernon.

And again the BC government does absolutely nothing to stop those fires. Shocker

That wind was so strong yesterday and last evening. Glad you got thru that fire storm must have been scary

I lost my cabin in this fire yesterday. I also had to drive through flames like this..the fire came down on us so fast, there was no time to escape safely. If you stopped or tried to turn around, you would be cooked alive. Scariest moment of my life.

Watched it all unfold this afternoon and yes very scary.

That looks incredibly frightening from this distance. I remember seeing a similar glow over the ridge a few years ago, and the way the sky changes color is always so unsettling. Hopefully the crews are able to get ahead of it before the wind picks up tonight.
