“Europe got rich only by robbery.” “Some countries are rich only because they have resources.” Both sound comforting. Both dodge accountability. Yes — colonialism stole, exploited, and scarred nations. That’s history. But if theft alone created development, half the world would be Norway today. Reality is more uncomfortable: Plenty of countries were colonized — only a few became developed. Plenty of countries have oil, gas, minerals, land — yet remain poor. Plenty of countries have no resources — yet built world-class economies. So what actually separates them? Not robbery. Not natural gifts. But institutions. Developed nations built: • rule of law • independent courts • stable property rights • real education systems • honest tax collection • innovation ecosystems • accountability for power Resources don’t build countries. Institutions do. Nigeria has oil. Venezuela has oil. Russia has everything. Still not “developed.” Meanwhile: Japan has no oil. South Korea had nothing. Singapore had swamp water. They built systems — not excuses. And here’s the part nobody wants to hear: Blaming colonialism forever feels righteous, but it quietly tells your own leaders: “Failure is acceptable. There’s always a foreign villain.” High-speed rail can be bought. Skyscrapers can be copied. But trust, law, and competence cannot be imported. History explains trauma. It does not excuse permanent stagnation. A nation becomes developed when it stops outsourcing both credit AND blame.

I call this The Rule of 2×1 !!! EP8 !!🥺😭 #TheOn1yOne My heart is racing with excitement! This is a turning point and the best episode of the series! #TheOnlyOneEP8 When Jiang Tian finally unpacks his suitcase and tears stream down his cheeks, he feels bewildered and doesn't understand why. Sheng Wang closes the physical gap between them and embraces him in a comforting manner, saying he knows why. But the last part, when he says "Welcome Home," truly broke me. This is how an epic drama is made! This moment in time will forever be frozen in their memories! The second time when JT pulls SW into an embrace was a different kind of emotional moment for him. He was in love with SW, and all those feelings poured out into that all-encompassing embrace. The close proximity of SW's neck almost made him lose his mind. He took a deep breath and held it all in. The angst has begun. He knows what he wants, but... The emotions that flow out as tears from both of them indicate how they are connected by fate. When one is in pain, the other also sheds tears. This is a crucial moment in their lives! I call this the rule of 2 x1 !! 2 boys, 2 bracelets 2 "brothers," 2 suitcases 2 keys. 2 beds. 2 hugs, 2 meanings, 2 hearts entwined And they are THE ONLY ONE for each other!!!! One is cognizant of the precarious situation, while the other remains somewhat oblivious... What a touching and moving episode! This series IS A MASTERPIECE!!! Epic!! 😭😭😭😭🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺 My tears don't stop either.. WeTV.Official iQIYI Viki GagaOOLala

THE SPEECH of Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex at Project Health Mind gala upon receiving The Humanitarians of the Year award with Harry, The Duke of Sussex "Our children Archie and Lili are just 6 and 4 years old. Luckily they are still too young for social media but we know that day is coming and so like many parents we think constantly about how to embrace technology's benefits while safeguarding against its dangers, and that hopeful intention, separation, is rapidly becoming impossible. Now two years ago we first spoke publicly about the work we've been doing with parents around social media's devastating impact on their children. There was no better place to share this than on World Mental Health Day with Project Healthy Minds. Their dedication to expanding access to mental health support is exactly what we aim to do by building this community called ‘The Parent Network’. We launched this program a year prior after we had been tracking the effects of online harms more broadly in twenty twenty. We were doing the research, we were meeting with experts at Stanford who have been trying to be heard on the findings that they knew were troubling and that would only worsen. And our work continued for years quietly and then in 2023 we connected with the social media victims law centre. We met with a group of American families whose lives were forever changed by the online harms that ultimately created the tragic fates of their children. And in that first gathering it was clear that for all of these families, meeting others who endured a similar experience was comforting, but more than that, was unifying. We felt the collective strength of this community coming together to heal, and feeling compelled to act in a much more public way, which is what we began to do, together we can and we will build a movement that all families and all children deserve. We know that when parents come together, when communities unite, waves are made. We've seen it happen and we're watching it grow, and with your support we'll continue building a safer digital world for all of our children. So on behalf of my husband and I, thank you so much for being here tonight. Thank you all of you for your support and thank you for standing with us as we continue this vital work.t Tank you. We appreciate it." Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex 9/10/25 #HarryandMeghan #MentalHealthAwarenessDay #TheParentNetwork

On this day 5 years ago my mucus plug came off just after 19:30hrs and my waters broke whilst I was alone with my 4yr old. My son Tendi had a very important event at his Kindergarten the next day and going to the hospital would have meant that he would have missed out on his official graduation portrait. We went to bed around 9pm and at 1am the contractions began. I was counting how far apart they were whilst comforting my oldest child whose reign as an only child was about to come to an end. At 4am the pain became unbearable, I couldn’t call 000 because i had spent 6yrs of my life driving my son to childcare, taught him how to read and write and the Graduation Potrait meant a lot to me. At this stage no one in my family knew I was in active labour. For some reason I felt an adrenaline rush, I started doing the washing, cleaned the house, packed my son’s overnight bag and got him ready for his big day. I drove my son to Kindy in excruciating pain and stopped along the way so I could take deep breaths . When I got to admissions they didn’t waste time. I had dilated 8cm and they were worried about me and the baby because I had taken long to check in at the hospital. I informed my family that I was in active labour when I was 9cm dilated , I also informed Setfree Nherera Mafukidze 🇿🇼 and uncle Farai. Tino’s head was too big and his heart rate started dropping, his head had been stuck in my cervix for a long time. They started preparing me for an urgent c-section. The Head Surgeon said he couldn’t wait he had to save the baby even though I was against a c-section, the 2nd surgeon suggested an episiotomy and they quickly cut me up and got him out safely. When he came out he didn’t cry for 7 minutes, everyone in the delivery room started praying including the student nurses. The Zim community lady wechikuru who had come to offer me support in the delivery room started calling out the Shumba Murambwi ancestors chanting out Sabhuku Temba P. Mliswa ‘s dad’s name to show up for his grandson and Tino eventually cried. I thought I had lost him for a second but the doctors and midwives at Mater Mothers Hospital worked overtime to make sure Tino came home with me together with his ancestors and I’m forever indebted to them🙏🏿. When the surgeon finished suturing me up he said you are one lucky lady, we could have lost the baby. I responded by saying Tinotenda and that’s how I came up with his name, Tinotenda Cripper Mliswa. When my family arrived we had been transferred to the ward. His 5th birthday is tomorrow but the celebrations began today, this whole week we will be celebrating all things Tinotenda Mliswa 🥰 starting with his official birthday party amongst many other surprises in store for him. If you are a man please appreciate the mother of your children, going to labor is no joke. Women go through so much just to bear children. BaTino Sabhuku Temba P. Mliswa thank you for Tino ❤️🫶🏾.

One year. One whole year already. And yet, I still can’t believe it. I still have this strange feeling that none of this is real. It’s like I’m trapped in a nightmare I can’t wake up from. As if, at any moment, you’ll show up again — with your smile, your laugh, your voice that feels so familiar. But time keeps moving, and with every day that passes without you, this absence becomes a little more real. A little harder to bear. The truth is, it’s been a year since you left. And the world has felt a little quieter ever since. You know, Liam, there’s not a single day that goes by without us thinking of you. You left such a huge mark on our lives, on our hearts — far beyond the music. Because you weren’t just an incredible artist. You were a bright soul — genuine, kind, generous, always there for everyone else. You had that rare gift of understanding people, of comforting them, of giving strength even when you barely had any left for yourself. That’s what made you so special, Liam. You brought light just by being you. And that’s why everything about you is missed so deeply. Everything you left behind still lives on today. Your songs, your words, your smile, every memory you gave us. You’re everywhere — in our thoughts, in every melody, in every laugh we share when we remember you. We keep celebrating you, talking about you, keeping you alive through everything you built. I think a lot about your family — Your dad, your mum, your sisters, your son, your loved ones — those who knew and loved you long before the world did. Losing someone so suddenly is unimaginable. I can only imagine how hard it must still be, even after a year, to try and move forward without you. I’m sending them all my love, all my support. Because you were their son, their brother, their light. And I know your absence must still feel like an unfillable space. I also think about your friends, and about those who were more than that — the boys, your brothers. Because One Direction wasn’t just a band. It was a family. You grew up together, laughed, created, shared memories no one else will ever truly understand. Nothing will ever erase that bond. And I know they carry that pain too. And then there’s us. Us, the fans — the ones you made smile, dream, grow. We still remember your words, your laughter, your energy. We haven’t forgotten you, Liam. We never will. You live through us — through your music, your laughter, your heart. You are a part of us, and you always will be. I just hope that where you are now, you’re not hurting anymore. That you’ve finally found the peace you always deserved. So if I could talk to you today, I’d simply say: Thank you, Liam. Thank you for existing. Thank you for your kindness. Thank you for being who you were. Thank you for everything you gave us. We miss you more than words can ever say. A little more every single day. But you still live on — through everything you were, everything you created, everything you left behind. You’ll always be there, somewhere — in every note, in every smile, in every heartbeat that still thinks of you. We’ll never forget you. Forever ✨🤍🕊️
