The Federal Government has issued a directive for the Keffi Bridge to be opened for vehicular movement. Minister of works David Umahi gave the directive during an inspection tour of ongoing projects within the Mararaba- Keffi -Abuja road. The bridge which is now at 99% to attain completion has been under intense reconstruction in the last four months. Opening of the bridge, the Work Minister says, will ease traffic especially at this festive period.

Construction of the 3.2-kilometre Magufuli Bridge on Lake Victoria was initiated by the former president in December 2019. President Samia Suluhu Hassan, who came into office in March 2021, is expected to officially inaugurate the mammoth project before the end of the year. The project was initially scheduled for completion in July 2023, but construction was delayed by the Covid-19 pandemic. Originally known as the Kigongo-Busisi Bridge, the Chinese-built mega infrastructure was renamed Magufuli Bridge in honour of the former president. The project is being developed by the China Civil Engineering Construction Group (CCECG) and China Railway. The bridge was entirely financed by the government of Tanzania through its own revenues. The People's Daily, the official newspaper of the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), said construction of the bridge was completed on October 6. "As the last tank of cement was poured on Sunday, the construction of the Magufuli Bridge was completed by two Chinese companies in Tanzania's northwestern Mwanza region," the People's Daily said in an online post. "The Magufuli Bridge is the only extra-dosed cable-stayed bridge in the Lake Victoria region and the longest of its kind in Africa." Another bridge has been struck by Russian KAB glide-bombs in Kramatorsk this morning, this time connecting Kramatorsk to the village of Yasnohirka. The bridge only received damage to one of its lanes, and remains passable for all vehicles. It will likely be struck again in the near future. Yesterday, the main bridge in the centre of Kramatorsk was also hit. This is the second bridge in the city to be hit in the last 24 hours.

JUST IN: One dead and 2 injured after a crane fell on the bridge over the New River in downtown Fort Lauderdale. The bridge also sustained significant damage as the crane appeared to leave a sizable hole. The two vehicle drivers reportedly survived the accident however someone under the bridge was killed. "The big crane was falling down, and it looked like when it hit the bridge, it broke in part," a witness told 7News. "There is a portion of the crane near the construction site and the other one that hit the bridge bounced off the Tesla and then bounced up and hit the van."

Although, Russia may repeatedly strike the bridge in the future. Additionally, a large section of the road's anti-drone net was destroyed in the strikes, providing an entrance for Russian FPV drones. The heavy damage to the bridge will make it impossible to repair the netting.

Four spans of the bridge fell on the Moscow-Minsk railway line (traffic is delayed). The gas pipe is also damaged. The reason for the collapse is wear and tear. According to local residents, the bridge was in an emergency condition, and activists had been seeking its repair for several years. But Russia prefers spending money on war.
