PhysX my beloved

For what it's worth, PhysX is still being updated and you can probably do this with PxDeformableSurface. The problem is the GPU-accelerated features being vendor locked to CUDA, so developers are justifiably reluctant to use that part of the SDK.

dice really went wild with selective physics there

Recently played Mirror's Edge again, got to this part, and even today I was impressed by a game from 2009

It was impressive, but locking it behind cuda instead of just using compute shaders killed it

To bad that nvidia neglected Physx. I was a fan of using a dedicated GPU just for the physx stuff - but CONSOLE development/gaming ruined it all for PC gamers...no more dynamic Physics, everything is scripted structural damage and/or baked-in pre-fractured animations instead.

I wonder what happens on Radeon GPUs when you interact with these. I never realised I had this precious cloth simulation exclusively on my GT730 lol

Motion sickness simulator my beloved

PhysX is so cool, it's a shame they dropped 32 bit support for the older titles.

shame it was exclusive to nvidia gpus

PhysX Ran like shit back then lol

Forgotten? or just such a niche bullcrap thing no one has ever had the need to make such a thing.

It's not forgotten, it's just that most devs don't bother with this kind of stuff

I miss Nvidia PhysX

Sad that Nvidia dropped phyx support. Now it seems impossible to get that working

Mirrors Edge is so ahead of its time!

physx cores > rtx cores

we really need more physics effects in games

cyberpunk also has these
