Nick Saban explains the difference between a mistake that deserves getting chewed out and one that deserves encouragement “I always sort of had a lot of respect for the fact that any player that’s a competitor wants to do well. And I think when you start with that, you have a better perspective because you look at things from their perspective, not your perspective. And I think that’s very helpful.” “Sometimes when guys are not doing intangible things, whether it’s giving effort or focusing or making mental errors or things that they can actually control, that is something that you can’t tolerate. And you really want to maybe sometimes get after a guy a little bit for it.” “But when guys are doing those things and just not having success, I think that’s when you want to pat them on the back and get them to believe in themselves and have an understanding if they continue to do things the right way, they will eventually have success.” “And every player’s different. Sometimes you got guys that are obsessive-compulsive type personalities that are really hard on themselves, and I don’t think you need to get on those guys because they’re already getting on themselves.” “Then you have other guys that may not be self-starters, and you got to push them a little bit more to get them to be what they’re capable of being. I think all those things were factors in how you kind of approach a player and try to get him to be the best he can be.” “I always tried to focus on the individual and not look at it like one size fits all, and try to take the best approach with that particular guy to help him have success.”

Naz Reid on what makes Minneapolis and Minnesota so special. “It’s one love, I like to call it one love because everybody is so supportive of each other, they were supportive of me when I came in and nobody knew who I was, and everybody was so supportive… people always dedicate themselves to one another, they care for one another being here for seven years I feel like this is home away from home… I want to try and give as much love as I can back to the city as much as possible”

Harry on running and why he chose "Sted Sarandos" as his name for the Berlin Marathon “I think the relationship between that almost spiritual aspect that music can have, when you're dancing and you get into this meditative place, I think there is a lot of synergy there between how you can feel when you're running sometimes. […] I think that the relationship between the meditation meditative aspect that music can have and the meditative aspect that running can sometimes have, it was like, weirdly made a lot of sense to me that those two things happened at the same time. But yeah, I think just feeling clear and present and doing one thing at a time and just being in it was the goal of both. And for the name, I don’t know. It’s silly, really.” - The Bru Show

.Jeff Goodman would trade Jaylen Brown for Giannis Antetokounmpo: "I would, yeah. I just I don't think you're winning it [with Jaylen] ... I don't think you're as good as San Antonio or Oklahoma City or probably the Knicks." "While they've won a title together, I do feel like Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown still do not feed well off one another."

Q. If you had to pick the one word here that draws you the most? ‘To Cherish’, ‘To be fond of’, ‘To love someone because they are cute’ or ‘To care for one another mutually’ 🐯: I think to love someone because they are cute is the one that appeals to me the most. Probably because its literal meaning is ‘To love someone because you find them cute’ right? See when you think about it, it’s like, because you find someone cute you feel love towards them and because you feel the love so now they look even cuter to you. Those two emotions interact with each other. So I personally think cute & lovely is a great phrase. I’ve also heard that being seen as ‘cute’ is the best

"Do I think Jaylen Brown this current contract as a #Celtic ? I do not. I think the financial burden, eventually, of having two super max guys and the fact that Jaylen Brown is going to be 30 next year...I think they will, once again, start shopping him for a younger partner for Jayson Tatum." Jason Kidd on what’s fair for the fans to say: “Dealing with grief. We have the best fans in the league, and they can come and cheer and boo. If they don’t like the way we’re playing, if we’re being lazy, but I don’t think the fans are booing the guys are playing as hard as they can…They have a right to speak on what they believe…I think it’s fair, that’s why they’re fans. They paid to come watch the game. As long as it’s not disturbing the next fan that’s come to watch the game and cheer the guys on.”

LeBron James says Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s efficiency is Jordan-esque: “Every time you look at the efficiency you look at the box scores and you see Shai 38 it’s like 13 for 17 from the floor you know the other night I think he had 40 something I think it was like 15 for 19. That’s one of my favorite things about players like you know I mean that’s because how I am like I love efficient players. Like you know can go out can do the things on the floor be efficient you know not taking too many bad shots, I mean if you get on a heater you want to take a heat check or two I get it. We all have our nights where we don’t shoot you know to our capabilities, I mean that just comes with the game. But yeah, I think that’s one of the things I love about Shai is just like for him to play on the perimeter as much as he does, playing at mid-range as much as he does and still be as super efficient as he is. It’s Jordan-esque.” (Via Mind the Game)

Brian Windhorst on Giannis to Miami: “The Heat have been talking to the Bucks for 6 months. If the Bucks liked what the Heat had to offer, they would’ve taken the deal. The Heat’s offer hasn’t changed. So they’re searching for another way to do it. Maybe they can’t find another way to do it and they come to the realization that it’s gotta be that deal, and they do that deal. But I don’t see why you make that deal on June 13th, 14th, 15th. I think you let that play out.” (Via SiriusXM NBA Radio)

🎙️ Charles Lee on the dual importance of celebration and accountability: "It's really important and I think that the really great teams do both things. They celebrate one another, they uplift each other and help push each other to be better. And that's what holding each other accountable is too." "We have standards around here. We know what those things are. And I think that it's great when you have a locker room full of people that are gonna hold everyone to the standards and not just the coaching staff."

#TAEYONG WEVERSE LIVE 🌹: "And there is one thing I’ve realized, that now when I’m alone, I don’t want to talk about the members anymore. Because I felt this even when I was in the military. Of course, I did do it a lot, but I think I came to think that talking about someone else when they aren’t around isn’t polite, no matter how much they are team members". 🌹: "We’re close and like brothers, but still, if you hear what you want to hear directly from the people involved, it’s much more comfortable for me, and I think it would be more comfortable for you all and the person involved too. (I’m trying not to talk about even that member’s TMI anymore. Actually, I did talk about it during the last interview. There was talk about the members, but because the other members might feel uncomfortable. I said that I wouldn’t talk about it. 🌹: "I asked for your understanding. So I hope you all understand. They did that for me . I hope you all understand, too. I think I regretted those things. Talking about the members' TMI or things like that in the past. They might have wanted to talk about it too, you know". 🌹: "And rather than just finding it fun for me to talk about, the people involved need to have something to say when they come. If I tell them everything, what are they going to talk about when they turn on the live stream again? If I tell them everything, they probably won't turn on the live stream at all. They won't even talk". *Pat pat* 🌹: "You all understand, right? Thank you" * Taeyong, I respect your decision. I hope those people who always do that can understand and respect your decision as well.

With the Wolves getting knocked out by Oklahoma City and San Antonio these last two seasons, asked Naz Reid about what they need to do to be able to catch those teams. "Probably just the moodiness. You look at both of those teams and they're playing for one another, they're excited to be on the floor with one another, they're a team where they're selfless... I think we have more than enough talent... But just being less moody. I think that's just the name of the game for us, just being less moody and more selfless."

Rob Reiner on the comparisons between "The Sure Thing" (1985) & "It Happened One Night" (1934): "A lot of people have said 'The Sure Thing' (1985) was like a teenage version of 'It Happened One Night' (1934). It’s hard to believe but at that point I’d never seen that movie. I’ve subsequently seen it and the only thing that’s comparable to me is that it’s on the road and the two people who don’t particularly like each other fall in love. The only thing that I ever shoot for is to try to be as good as I can be at the time. You may look back on something you’ve done ten, twelve years ago and say, “Well, that’s not as good as I can do now.” And it’s really irrelevant. The only thing you can go by is whether this as good as you can do at the time you’re doing it. And I felt when I finished 'The Sure Thing', it was as good as I could do at that time." ("The Directors - Take Two", Robert J. Emery, 2002)

Joe Mazzulla says his goal as Celtics coach is to be forgotten “If the people around you didn’t do what they do… I wouldn’t do anything. The thing I reflect on the most is… I think you have to be willing to be forgotten. I think that’s kind of my main goal.” “I want to be forgotten about. Because that means after you… It was better. I think that’s what it means to be a Celtic. However long you play, coach, work for the Celtics…” “Your job is to keep it exactly where it’s at or bring it better. You cannot bring it down. If you leave and it gets worse, that’s your fault. If you leave and they win, and they forgot about you, you did your job.” “I talk about that every day with the staff. Our job is to one day be forgotten about because you did your job. It became about something bigger than you.” “It’s a burden and a love for being with the Celtics… But it’s a responsibility. I think we could take that into our daily life. Can I leave it so much better that they don’t remember me because the next person came and was better?”

INSANE OBJECTIVES. I think our society is run by insane people for insane objectives. And I think that’s what I sussed when I was sixteen and twelve, way down the line. But I expressed it differently all through my life. It’s the same thing I’m expressing all the time, but now I can put it into that sentence that I think we're being run by maniacs for maniacal ends, you know. If anybody can put on paper what our government and the American government, etc., Russian, Chinese – what they are actually trying to do, and what they think they’re doing, I’d be very pleased to know what they think they're doing. I think they’re all insane, you know. But I’m liable to be put away as insane for expressing that. You know, that’s what’s insane about it. John Lennon, 6 June 1968
