Former #Commanders WR Deebo Samuel on why he didn’t return to Washington: “I mean, if I knew, I’d tell you … they didn’t say why. I thought we had a pretty cool understanding of the exit meeting and you know, things along those lines”. (🎥:Michael Irvin)

@michaelirvin88 I wouldn't have minded seeing Deebo play with some other weapons. The guy did pretty good despite our offense being depleted most of the season

@michaelirvin88 They replaced him with Antonio Williams.

I feel like if Brown worked out in Jacksonville and Lane showed zero improvement then he wouldve been signed earlier as the WR3 if that made sense. Probably wouldve hated that role but tbh he just wasnt a key WR2 as I hoped him to be. Diggs on the other hand has so much experience as the WR1 that he SHOULD easily fit being the WR2. We got an upgrade folks. Not saying Deebo was completely utter buns but we got someone that can go downfield and take advantage of zones and dedicates 100% effort on routes with ruthless aggression. Plus I liked what LMC had to offer when he was called upon to be the WR3 last year. He has a knack for getting open when both WRs on opposite sides are getting paid attention to. He just cant be seen by the QBs enough to really show what he can do.

@michaelirvin88 He doesn’t fit Bloughs offensive style but he was a perfect fit for Kliffs. It’s quite simple

@michaelirvin88 Im sure Blough said no and I get why. He fit kliffs scheme, it just so happened that the injury bug hit us to hard last season and kliff didn't mix up play calling. Brought doesn't need a Deebo in the slot, he needs a Amon Ra or a JDN type. Thats why they drafted tone

@michaelirvin88 "You're old and we want to get young"

@michaelirvin88 Why this nigga got a tie on with his knees out

Full interview here:

@michaelirvin88 HE WAS SLOW.

@michaelirvin88 He was more than compensated for his work. His route tree is too limited.

@michaelirvin88 He stayed healthy. This front office didn't understand players like that

@michaelirvin88 He got done a rough deal by all the injuries that happened with the offense last season. I feel like the offense would’ve been way more dynamic had everyone been healthy

@michaelirvin88 When we were talking to him he wanted 5x what he ended up getting

@michaelirvin88 Needed a true WR 2 like Diggs.

@michaelirvin88 Bruh he lying like a MF.AP offered em an ext, but Deebo thought he was worth more than AP offered em. Apparently the rest of the NFL thought differently. Shoulda signed the offer while it was on the table, bc now he making less than the OG offer & also those CA Taxes too. Whew!😮‍💨

@michaelirvin88 I like Deebo but Diggs is a better fit.

@michaelirvin88 I didnt mind seeing deebo come back

@michaelirvin88 Irvin so yakked out he can't stay still 🤣

@michaelirvin88 A lot happened after the exit meetings.. I'll just leave it at that.

@michaelirvin88 After being in an organization for a year, he understands what a good organization looks like. One that can get me to the Super Bowl. You understood that Washington is a cursed franchise. Something he saw in that building.

@michaelirvin88 Cuz he dropped that 4th down dime in the back of the end zone vs. the Vikings🤣 Srsly though, I would have brought him back. He was good and we need weapons.

@michaelirvin88 I got the Deebo Commanders Funko pop so im double sad

@michaelirvin88 2 sides to every story and the truth

@michaelirvin88 They probably felt that they could get younger and cheaper. Plus they went with a new offensive coordinator.

@michaelirvin88 No disrespect to him because he was solid, but we changed OCs and needed someone who can run the full route tree at WR2. He was always more of a Kliff fit.

@michaelirvin88 @JunksRadio @EBJunkies

@michaelirvin88 I wanted him to come back because he did so good but I’m thinking he may not be a fit for the new OC scheme.. him and White seem like they would be doing the same but White may be the better fit!! I love Deebo but I think he was always meant to be a 9niner I wish him luck!!

@michaelirvin88 He wasn’t very good unfortunately that’s why

@michaelirvin88 Just wasn’t as good of a fit in Blough scheme and he prob wanted more than we would pay. Woulda liked him back but tbh I’m glad they ended on decent terms.

@michaelirvin88 Hes not a real WR. Don't need another RB or gadget guy. Not the fastest nor is he shifty. I also noticed him on the sideline panting alot after about 2 plays. Idk if it was conditioning or play package.

@michaelirvin88 It’s the business

@michaelirvin88 I think they were expecting things to work out with BA.

@michaelirvin88 Deebo did great last year shoulda signed him to pair with Stefon and never treylon burks or dyami brown he is so much more productive than the both of them together

@michaelirvin88
