Tons of successful startups are remote. Google started failing right at the same time they started offshoring their management and workforce to the lowest bidder.

It hasn’t had a competitive edge for fifteen years, it had a monopoly. That’s a different thing. Their only means of innovation has been buying technologies and letting them rot. Their lack of innovation has nothing to do with remote work, in fact they’ve been more aggressive since going remote than before,

Work is an activity, not a location or a measure of time. Google's offices are corporate kindergartens. People with real jobs perform better at home in their own setup than in a ball pit next to a foosball table.

The tech industry has lost its way. Blaming it on their workers says it all. They don’t build for customers, they build for profits. It is about monopolies instead of competition. Eric is too old to understand this.
