2 things - (1) it's not that easy to "find the next Seth Lugo" or everyone would do it. (2) Cano was not crap in SEA. Cano was great. It didn't end well, but no one can look back at that signing and honestly state that it was the wrong move. Cano and Cruz were money.

I wonder if it was baseball people or analytics that said to give Joe Buck and Jared Saltalamacchia three year deals or Jose Reyes $106 million despite grading out as a poor defender (by the analytics) just to dump him one year into a massively backloaded deal.

“The Cano contract wasn’t bad.”

Find me an undervalued stock that will double in 6 months. Genius.

What is he talking about? This is word salad IMOP. The Cano contract was probably the most valuable thing the Mariners have done in the last 20 years. He was the best 2B in baseball for multiple years AND they were able to move him without eating the contract. Sampson is a clown

Mariners been doing what he’s saying and it don’t work

I’m so sick of this shit. Oh we don’t want a Soto or a Bregman. Shut the fuck up. Seriously. We are like 2 bats away from actually competing and we have a crazy rotation. Quit justifying this tom foolery and start coughing up some fuckingn money.

this is shitty take by @DavidPSamson . canos 5 years with mariners was incredibly productive. then they got 80m off the books and jarred kelenic. the issue was they didn’t put better players around cano. david. do better man.

So idiotic. This is the exact type of thinking that that cratered the Marlins has made the Mariners so mediocre for so long.

Na. I'd take that guys advice as much as I'd want Z making decisions again.
