@SweetFeet_White @_SDS8 I agree with this comment. But when you do make a big deal about the “best guy is going to win the job” and then you openly say one guy is outperforming the other it can lead people being confused lol. Yes, there’s more nuance, but that’s now how it’s been communicated

Mendoza checks a lot of boxes that NFL evaluators really value. He’s tough as nails. He can function inside the pocket and make plays outside of it, even though his feet aren’t elite. He consistently hits the layups. He understands where the easiest throw is and takes it. That matters. He’s played well against high level competition and he’s just a football player. He finds ways to make plays. The production is outstanding, but what really stands out are the traits that don’t always show up on a stat sheet. Those are the things NFL teams tend to fall in love with.
