A meeting of the Election Commission was held today, attended by the Chief Election Commissioner and the other two Election Commissioners. The report states that all decisions regarding SIR were taken with the consent of the Chief Election Commissioner and the other two Election Commissioners. In a blatant move to undo the effect of the landmark Supreme Court ruling, the govt brought a law to replace the CJI with a cabinet minister on the selection panel for appointing Election Commissioners. With a 2:1 majority, the law empowers the ruling party to select candidates of its choice as Chief & commissioners of the ECI.

UPDATE (Bad): Ellis County Commissioners voted 4-1 to propose a PROPERTY TAX INCREASE!! And this follows a BOMBSHELL admission tonight from (unelected) Ellis County Judge John Wray that the county "lost" approximately 20 million tax dollars!! The Commissioners who voted FOR the proposed property tax hike were: Judge John Wray, Louis Ponder, Randy Stinson, and Kyle Butler. The only Commissioner to vote for the taxpayers and AGAINST the proposed tax hike was Matt Zajic. There will be a vote on final adoption soon, and I'll keep you posted. If you live in Ellis County, tell your Commissioners "NO TAX HIKE!"
