Most broadcast angles feel cold and robotic. Why did it take so long for the IOC to realize that a former skater captures the intensity better than a static lens?

That’s actually a cool evolution for the sport. Seeing the emotion up close instead of just perfect spins might change how people connect with figure skating.

It really adds a whole new dimension to the broadcast. Having someone like Jordan Cowan on the ice captures those raw, emotional moments that fans rarely get to see, making the experience feel much more personal and immersive.

That's actually super cool—first on-ice camera op in Olympic figure skating history? Jordan Cowan bringing those raw, up-close emotions we never get from the usual angles 🔥⛸️ Game-changer for fans!

This is next level genius. History made on the rink: Jordan Cowan’s on-ice camera work gives fans angles that overhead and sideboard cameras could never. Truly next-level coverage.

That’s a cool milestone! Putting a camera operator right on the ice in Olympic figure skating will give fans a whole new perspective closer to the storytelling and emotion of the sport. ⛸📸

And here's the @AP article by Colleen Barry on @IcePerspectives' Jordan Cowan (Feb. 16, 2026): His @YouTube channel: #MilanoCortina2026 #WinterOlympics #FigureSkating #OnIcePerspectives #FilmingonOlympicIce

doesn't he distract the skaters?

Nice to see, but China, Russia and Japan have been doing this type of on-ice camera work for many years. It took the Olympics quite a while to catch up 🤷♀️. Both IOC @iocmedia & @ISU_Figure are also several years behind in skating analysis tech & telemetry. They lack innovation.

You can see that he is passionate about his work and he wants to share this with the audience! Bravo!!👏

Get a guy to film inside the Olympic Village and maybe we'll find out what happened to the condoms.

No wonder I was really enjoying the viewpoint, bravo 👏

Please stop going in on super closeup; nobody needs to be able to count nosehairs.

This is so cool! I wondered how that camera guy could be so aware of a routine and such a skilled skater. 🤗

I'd be afraid of causing a collision

Jordan Cowan pioneers ice-level camera work at Olympics.

Yes, friends and families adore seeing the passion ❤️

This is super cool but, is it distracting for the competitors?

Sounds way GAAAAAYYYYYY. Shocking.

Dude should be a professional skater. Doing that while holding a camera is insane, lmao.

Were there a bunch of liberal clowns protesting ICE there?

use drones

that's a game changer for the sport

Points for skating ability… but isn’t he annoying?
