007/100 Buttons. This button was way more complex than I first thought. I love the page transition on the Truus site that Dennis Snellenberg and Jordan Gilroy worked on. So I wanted to use that drawing SVG Path idea somehow and fit it into a button. In best case with a mask effect. The idea was to have an SVG path in the background that fills the button. At the same time, this path should also be used as a mask to reveal the differently colored text. The SVG should also be replaceable and work with other SVGs. For the path animation, I can use the DrawSVGPlugin from GSAP. Sounds like a solid plan. I built the button so far, and it worked great in Chrome and Firefox. In Safari, nope. I used an SVG mask that I referenced through CSS. But Safari can’t handle that properly when the path inside the mask is animated, so the animation lags. There was no simple solution for that. At least I didn’t find something. So I had to rebuild the button in another way. What I found was that the SVG mask animation works in Safari when the mask is placed on the desired element inside the SVG. That’s where foreignObject comes in, it allows you to use normal HTML elements inside an SVG. Using that, I rebuilt the hover text inside the SVG. I then referenced the mask on the foreignObject with a bit of JavaScript. And it worked! The button’s structure looks more complicated than I wanted it to be, but that happens quite often when you need to make something work across different browsers 😃 Crafting 100 Buttons with Osmo ⏳ Total time: 96h

But a viral GitHub project called Free Claude Code, now sitting at 37k stars, lets you skip the billing entirely. It works as a tiny proxy that sits between Claude Code and free model providers like NVIDIA NIM, OpenRouter, DeepSeek, and Gemini. Every request Claude Code would send to Anthropic gets quietly rerouted to a free model on the other side. The interface stays the same. What’s actually thinking behind it changes. Setup takes a couple of quick commands and a free API key from NVIDIA NIM or OpenRouter. Paste it into the local dashboard, pick a model, and you’re building. On Figma Motion, my demo & review. This is one of those updates that clicked swiftly into my workflow. Like in my 3D pipeline, using this stick shift animation, I emphasize hardware feedback with motion from Figma Motion. Assets are animated in Fig Motion and loaded into Blender as video textures for mesh and material control. It's advantageous since it is built into an ubiquitous ecosystem. A lot of work these days start in Figma even for someone like me that works outside the tool frequently. Can't over-emphasize my appreciation for the schema used to introduce motion to nearly all properties. Reminds me of how motion works in Blender - with better complexity management. Better than introducing more menus for those. Ease curves iD between keyframes is also an improvement over existing systems. Having spent some time on the tool, here are updates I'll like to see to Figma Motion. These are based on my immediate needs as at the time of working on this demo: • Using modifier keys (CMD, Shift, Ctrl) to jump / nudge across the timeline. E.g: holding down Shift key to make the playhead jump 100ms etc. • Jump to previous or next keyframe. • Better anchor point trails • Renaming layers from the timeline as well. • Editable custom bezier styles: after saving a style, I should be able to edit the curve - just as you can edit colour styles. • Enable transform on the timeline. I should be able to flip or scale keyframes. I hope to continue trying more ideas. Craft focused tools have had to take a backseat in recent times. Pleasing to see this come to light.

This is a painful watch. Why is Reform standing foreign candidates at all? And why is Nigel Farage MP racialising the argument while completely ignoring the bigger point? It’s not complicated. Only the British people should stand in British elections, and only the British people should be able to vote in them. Why bring skin colour into it? This is classic left-wing tactics, deflecting into a race debate instead of addressing a legitimate concern: the sheer number of foreign candidates being put forward who have no ancestral or cultural connection to this country is mental. Should an Englishman be able to stand in an Indian election? Of course not, and I would expect India to never even entertain that as a possibility. Not being able, or willing, to define what it means to be English is no different to not being able to define what a woman is. And on the wider point, X is a platform for free speech. If you don’t like it, you’re free to leave or build your own app. Pathetic words from Farage.

Typing every reply, document, and email is starting to feel outdated. Thinking out loud is simply more natural than forcing ideas through a keyboard. Lately, I've been using Typeless, and the shift is obvious. I speak while ideas are still forming, and they turn into clear emails that sound human, Slack replies that don't need rewriting, clean docs, notes, and fast brain dumps. Even messy thoughts end up as structured outlines. There's no blank page pressure, no fixing commas, no retyping the same sentence over and over. You just talk the way you normally would, and the writing gets cleaned up quietly in the background. It feels less like writing and more like thinking clearly, out loud, without friction. Can't believe I'm posting Chamath, but this is incredible advice I became red-pilled when I noticed that, as I worked 20-hour days for years and sacrificed all personal relationships and health* to make Solana better, people on Solana were making 1,000x more money than me while adding 0 value, copy/pasting some shit protocols, or just straight up doing crime And not only that, because of my presence on X, I was at a handicap because people wanted the illusion of "neutrality" I used get resentful about this from time to time, but over time understood that it's useless as no one cares and they all have their own thing and that you gotta win regardless If you're a builder, make sure you are capturing the value you create You have a moral imperative to get the money *see hairline
