African Americans are descendants of not just the transatlantic slave trade but also descendants of the intracontinental slave trade a.k.a "The Second Middle Passsage" because the U.S. banned the importation of enslaved Africans to the U.S. from Africa in 1808. This is what triggered the U.S. to get enslaved Africans from the Caribbean and birthed the "born into slavery" rule. Making African Americans a mixture of the youngest and the oldest Africans brought to the Americas. The oldest are considered to be Brazilian and Hispanic/Latino African diaspora. The youngest can be considered African groups of Jamaica and Haiti because the importation of enslaved Africans from Africa to those places didn't cease until the mid-19th century. Although it was illegal to do so for the U.S., some broke the rule and continued to take from Africa after 1808. An example of this is the Clotilda arriving illegally in the Americas in 1860, but because it was illegal, there was an influx of Africans taken from the Caribbean. Mainly the Bahamas Cuba and Jamaica. As a result, our ancestors are literally from both continental Africa and the Caribbean. This formed a group that still retains elements from both Africa and what was created by Africans in the Caribbean. A history rich with complex, integrated African and Carib indian retention

On November 9th, SPD Officers responded to reports by security personnel of juveniles fighting near the 400 block of K Street. During the fight, one of the juveniles produced a handgun. Officers coordinated with security personnel and used SPD's Public Safety Camera Network, to track down the armed juvenile who was still on K Street. The juvenile was still in possession of the handgun, and a second juvenile was found to be in possession of an imitation firearm. Both juveniles were arrested for weapons related charges. The Jalisco Cartel New Generation (CJNG) carried out another ambush against an elite police unit in the state of Zacatecas. The attack comes amid a series of public accusations by CJNG, in which the cartel claims Zacatecas Governor David Monreal is supporting the “El Mayo” faction of the Sinaloa Cartel. CJNG also alleged that Jalisco Governor Pablo Lemus has ties to the same Sinaloa faction. Separately, they accused the newly appointed commander of the 41st Military Zone in Jalisco, General Isaac Bravo López, of being “a good friend of El Mayo” and actively backing his group. The accusations have revived the saying: “El Mayo has more friends in the government than in his own cartel.”
