Ah, this one is a classic. But it does track. LotR borrows heavily from many mythologies. And as we've seen throughout history, people tend to go for simplicity when it comes to naming. Like often a fancy sounding name in a different language is just "Big rock town".

And they are the best books ever written. Maybe overcomplicating things is a bad thing actually.
