Found out why we have squatters rights and i look at things ALOT differently now. This could go badly.

The rights she’s referring to are tenants rights a squatter a person who unlawfully occupies an uninhabited building or unused land. She had a lease which meant she’s a tenant and she had more options than what she chose. With medical issues some states give rental assistance.

It’s not right to have someone have to pay for someone else’s housing unwillingly. That’s what this is. The landlord is now paying for that person living in their home. I’m not saying a person struggling, especially when it comes to disabilities shouldn’t have housing, but what about the property owner? How is this fair to them?

They need to change the verbiage bcuz what she says makes sense. The people actually squatting (in the bad way) need to be dealt with by law.

There are squatters rights and then there are tenants rights. They can be (but are not always) the same.

Once you stop paying, you’re a squatter. Yes, life is rough. Shit happens to everyone. Your landlord doesn’t owe you a damn thing, under any circumstances, after you stop paying your rent. Get out of the house/apartment & Google somewhere else. Go stay with friends or family.

Is this not renters/tenant rights? If you didn’t pay rent, it’s up to you to figure out how to pay that rent or go somewhere else you can afford.

@_LSanz92 I think when people refer to squatters, they’re referring to people who just crash in someone’s house and refuse to leave. Not people who sign a lease and fall on hard times
