I just did a new panel and autopilot in my 195....it's like cheating now :-)

I used to work at a small airport. Had a guy in a Mooney at around 9:00 pm in similar conditions. Came down just fine, but whooo boy!

“Minimums, Minimums!”

How’d you do the camera mount? 👀

I use the NFlightCam external mount using one of the screws up on the tail.

Dope, thanks 🤙

I Follow Roads (IFR)

This thread is hilarious. Fking armchair aviators man.

Nicely done.

My dad was VFR, we checked the weather it was supposed to sunny and clear then out of the blue right before landing weather came out of nowhere. We landed but boy was it rough and my dad came close to sticking the wing on landing because a gust came out of nowhere.

Called off a similar flight the other day. Except it would have been at night.

Nice approach!

Jerry's Checklist, Secondary Minimums - "Set"

All day yesterday I was wishing I was current with the weather we had in SW Ohio

It is always a good feeling when conditions are suboptimal.

Always a relief when it's where they said it would be.

Scud running r u? As the English would say; "Bad form".

Amazing vantage point

Executing an approach like that is quite satisfying. Nice job killing the drift.

Were you scud running? Looks like IMC to me?

More fun when you ride with your friend training for his IFR license and his instructor.

Dang!! I'd rather walk.

OVC200 RA

@aviationblogs RNAV or ILS? (I fly about 2-4 ILS annually just to keep my hand in, otherwise I love my RNAV approaches!)

Had a similar experience in one of my first solos out of the circuit. ATC made an urgent recall, I joined downwind, turned base then finals. On approach the prop wash couldnt clear the screen. Persevered as I could see the ground (Cessna F150) but gave up, called Overshoot 1/2

Serious I Follow Roads weather

Scud running? Dangerous af.

I noticed you added flaps after breaking out in what looks like fairly low minimums. You may want to reconsider the instability that creates in a very demanding landing environment. Many local San Diego flight schools teach 10° flap approaches and, if the weather is less than 500 & 1, landing 10° flaps (unless you are runway length limited). With larger aircraft, most operators are stable with gear down and landing flap setting at 1,000’ agl. Being stable is the key goal. ATP/CFI-I/FAASTeam

It looks like you did a good job while on IMC and then you ruined it by changing your configuration below 500ft and landing on the numbers instead of continuing to your aiming point

Very nice stable approach. I appreciate the subtle corrections having the ailerons in view

VFRで雲中飛行は禁止です

@aviationblogs

IFR , I presume

Shoudnt the flaps be down before short final?

In all fairness, met conditions are not that bad

I want to see the cockpit video of this approach🤡
