We've got Swahili Omani, Kamba Paraguayans and the Swahili American Bloods (Damu) gang lol I wonder where else Kenyans have integrated themselves

When I was in the Gulf, random Arabs would sometimes approach me and start convos in Swahili I at first thought they were KE / TZ Arabs but it turns out it was mostly Omani expatriates They told me Swahili is fairly widely spoken in Oman.

Most of the East African slave traders were of Omani origin. If I'm not mistaken also the the Sheikhs of Zanzibar until the early 1900s were also of Omani origin. There are many Kenyan families at the coast that are of that dual nationality.

But how are the young people speaking it if their elders did not? I dont understand.
