In Puranic cosmology, "created from Brahma" does not mean biological offspring the way humans understand it. Their union represents the meeting of pure consciousness (Purusha) and material reality (Prakriti). Which is how creation happens in Hindu philosophy. Cherry-picking one late strand is not scholarship.
