China firmly opposes this and has lodged stern representations with the Japanese side, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian said in response to a media inquiry about senior officials of Japan’s Liberal Democratic Party visiting Taiwan region provocatively and meeting with Lai Ching-te.
